Yesterday at Laverton in the west of melb, A lady was moving from the left lane into the fast right lane, And hit a motorcycle and pushed him into the concrete wall. The rider died at the scene. The lady was brought to my work place, It wasnt a good day
Yeah, I do not understand how a bike can get hit by a car simply changing lanes on them ?? There is always room to avoid this sort of situation when you are on a bike unless the car makes some sort of radicly fast lane change or the rider is not paying attention. My heart goes out to the family of the rider that was killed but I also feel a bit angry at such a waste. It usually always comes down to bad road conditions or lack of rider/driver training.
So sad, another life snuffed out by ignorance
RIP m8
Normally i have every friday off, Butt this morning i get a phone call to come in on overtime, As i rode in , Myself nearly gets squashed by a truck( scared the absolute shit out of me) I had this funny feeling i was going to have a bad day. I was getting a hand over from the night shift security,He was telling me about this lady that tried to take her own life, Well it was the lady that hit the bike rider yesterday, Sitting with her and listening to her i felt for her ,She kept on saying he came from no where, Well im prob not alloud to say this but she ended up taking her own life. My day went from bad to full on SHIT and they wonder why i drink Sorry
it is also with sadness that I write about a further fatality around the corner from where I work last Wednesday.....
typical of a lot of posts on another forum that I am a member of, is that people flame others that may or may not have contributed to the accident.... I have just posted the following:
this thread has impacted me in a way I had not imagined... not because I went past the site on my way to work, or for the fact that I turn that corner each day but because of the people who have joined this forum to post not because they are riders but because they are related to, or know the person personally... I for one, as a member of PSB am thankfull that this thread has for once been far more respectiful than some I have read. to blonie and wildchild... and to family and friends who will no doubt venture to read this thread my sincere condolences to you, family and friends... to the people of PSB, may the contributions of blondie and wildchild serve as notice to keep respect our fallen riders, their family and friends and finally to our fallen rider... RIP mate
just thought I would share this with you..... now back to finishing off getting pissed
The best thing on a car is those indicators on the side of the front quarter panels, thats when they use the bloody things. Now on saying that I was driving down the freeway and a guy on a Duke was in my blind spot and it was the sound of the bike that indicated to me that he was there, so I held my position and he came past. Morale to the story - LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES
That really sucks to hear. Hope you didnt have to see it happe Finny. Unfortunately we have to ride like everything out there is trying to kill us. Once in a while I find that I get too comfortable and pay a little less attention than I should be.
Hi Finny,
I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel very sorry for the families involved. No matter whose fault it is, the lose of lives is so tragic.
I live hear at south eastern and I heard on the news yesterday another rider got killed along Burwood Highway.
I really don't know what to think when this sort of things happen. ....It's just so sad!!
You all take care out there,---stay cool, beware and be safe.
