    Hi there,

I have read a fair few posts on this forum and thought it only fitting that today I join the forum as it is on this day that I became the proud owner of my first real bike!!!

Picked up my 2012 Superglide today and rode it home.  I spent my teenage years on a bike whenever I could but it was mostly trail bikes and motocross back then with the off lap on a CBRs and the like.  Never had I touched any heavy metal until my father-in-law brought home his 105th anniversary superglide.  I was offered a ride but declined having not ridden since my teens following a pretty nasty accident that wrote off my last bike and also having no experience whatsoever on a HD.  I ended up starting to ride it after FIL upgraded to a CVO Breakout and realised the difference between riding a bike and riding a harley.

Looking forward to tapping into the wisdom of the forum and hopefully being able to contribute where possible.

    Cheers,

    Roadblock

Thanks for all the welcomes! Did my first mod to the bike last weekend. Fitted a detachable sissy bar with a rack. A bit spensive but worth every dime for the quality of the genuine HD accessories. The kids love getting on the bike with me and they like it even more now with the backrest. Gives me more confidence having them on the back with it there as well. Did the install myself including the turn signal relocation / docking hardware mod. I've got to say the HD installation instructions are great. The only thing that would be better is if they listed the tools required down to the size. Got everything together and had to wait until the next morning to go to bunnings and get a T27 torx bit. Had just about every other size but the one I needed. I recommend spending a few dollars and getting a set of torque wrenches as well. I got 1/4" and 3/8" toolpro ones from supercheap and they worked a treat. Good quality and accurate. I checked a couple of settings with the high priced, calibrated deflecting beam wrenches at work and they were easily within tolerance.

Nice work roadblock I recently had a detachable fitted on the Bob but had the stealer do and yeah that was really expensive! Good gear though heh  my missus loves it.

    Cheers Frothy
