Hello from Melbourne

    Hi guys,

    picked up my Iron 883 about 2 months ago - She's my daily ride with just over 4k on the clock. 

    A few days ago I was involved in a hit and run which resulted in extensive damage to my bike. The idiot was caught by the police a few hours later and will see his day in court soon...

    Now I just need to wait for the Insurance and repairer (HH / Ringwood) to process the claim - but its all taking too long.

    I would appreciate any recommendations on repairers that specialize in Harley's and can start on my bike asap.

    Welcome aboard Stel enjoy the ride, when you get her back on the black stuff, can't help with recommenddations in Tas myself but I'm sure someone will set you straight, Cheers.

    Thanks for the welcome guys, very happy to be here.

    Some good news -  today I had a call from HH (Ringwood) and they managed to push forward the repairs.  Hopefully they'll start the work first week in Jan...

    I'll post some pics when she's back home

    Welcome to the forum mate, sorry to hear about your misfortune.

    You wouldn't believe it but you are the second person on this forum that has had been involved in an accident, on a sporty within the last 2 months. The other fella had only had his brand spanker on the road for less than 1/2 hr before someone rear ended him.

     All the best, & I hope the mongrel who did the hit & run gets his just deserts.

    Hope the prik cops it mate, but dont hold your breath, the law doesnt really like anything thats 2 wheel based.

    The policeman that attended rides a motorbike, so he was very helpful and understanding. He called me a couple of days later and told me that the scum has been formally charged with "hit and run" and other driving offences.

    almost 2 months to the date. Picked up my bike today and and I'm so happy to have my wheels again :)
