hi guys a bit more progress with my build, motor stripped down for painting,'' good old harley texture paint''

turned out a treat compared to what it used to look like.also gave it a top end fresh'n up while it was apart

i made the timing cover out of a chunk of aluminium i picked up of a building site

got it powder coated took it to a printer with the style of writing i wanted he laser etched,

the writing then infilled with white paint.turned out pretty cool i think...slowly getting there.....jocky

Now the fun starts...Electrical...first time at it,hope all goes ok,the loom is labled so maybe not to bad.
as you can see i have mounted the loom under my oil tank so i can hide the wires as much as possible..Jocky

Well it definitely has been a long time building my bike, but i have finally fcuk'n finished
and am really over the moon with the result, especially the paint work as it is the first time i have ever
spray painted any thing other than a fence.
it has taken me 4.5 years, money and skills"",limited as they are""is the reason but i have enjoyed the whole thing till the  end
took it out on the road last weekend and what a buzz, fcuk me dead i had a woody, people were giving me the thumbs up everywhere
i went, as you can see it is not for comfort , but it was not as bad as i thought it was going to be,it is all about the "cool" factor isn't it?
big thanks to WALKA who gave me alot of help to get going.
so to anyone who thinks they cant do it think again....give it a go.....jocky

awesome work mate. this is the first time I'm seeing this thread for some reason, so it was great to see it from start to finish in one go. very fuckn impressive.
I look forward to doing the same thing myself one day. I think I have most of the skills, but I'm just a bit short on time and money - one day though.

    Thats an awesome looking bike.
And all the better looking for the fact its "built not bought" which is a rare thing nowadays.  I'm on a similar journey and there is some good satisfaction at each stage so i know where your coming from.

to answer your question scouser my engineers report is finalized and have built it to the rules
rang regency all the way through the build to get the correct interpretation of the rule, if you
know what i mean.all i have to do now is book in to regency , i have only ridden my bike
on the road under a permit, thanks again everyone for your replies.....jocky
