    What year bike.
It sounds like a main fuse (circuit breaker) is getting hot and shutting down. Could also be the crank sensor if its a later model.

Has the bike an early version power commander ?

    Or a Thundermax ECM ?

Back in 2007 these were the "dog's bollocks" for tuning

Even tho' they were'nt !! , now they're just a liability with wiring issues in my experience

If it has either installed , my money's on the wiring loom for the add on product

Seen it before , exact same symptoms you are describing

its a 07 96 cu with sept fitted and its been fine till today ,soon as she heats up the misfires startup, had it idling when hot back hm but rev her up neutral light and tank lights dim out misfire then shut down let her cool down seems ok. tks fellas for the input , Hogbag would the crank sensor be a problem with that year?
I'm sort of with fat55 ,coil maybe!!

I've seen crank position sensor problems , rare but I have seen them

You should be able to raise a " fault code " if it is . Fairly straightforward to replace if it is.

Coil problems are even rarer ( in my experience anyways !)

Is your tuner an older SERT or a younger " Super tuner ". They're quite different

I would check the main fuse (left-side cover)first for corrosion as it sounds like a total power failure. Ignition has to be on when you pull the fuse and on when refitting it. Check the battery earth at battery and especially the gearbox as these come lose on the early 07 bikes. It could be the crank sensor but that won't cause a total 12 volt power failure

Yes , corrosion and bad earth is what I'd be looking for

ALSO the ignition switch itself can get all blue copper corrosion thru' it

I've seen that several times and fixed it , Speedo etc lifted and take out the switch unit.

Big CRC clean up , then lube with chain lube ( I don't have dielectric grease in the shed !)

Worked perfect on 2 bikes , a 2000 Deuce and a 2006 Dyna , both with "switch on the tank" like a Softail

Costs nuthin' but time and effort that one

Also pull the male conection off the ECM when the main fuse is pulled and check for corrosian on any off those pins and re-plug before the main fuse goes back in. Go steady making sure you don't bend any pins.

Rang a mate bought round battery banged her in wamo fired up straight away. The 2 and bit year old battery I pulled out read 13.13 v but wouldn't turn her over. So hopefully all good with a new one. Won't be buying it from batterywworld they can get fucked. Haha
Well fingers crossed. Cheers for all the import it was a weird 1

Its a turkey shoot buying batteries as my original HD battery lasted 6 years and the replacement HD lasted 10 months. Deka make HD batteries and there one of the best available downunder.
