    G'day all,

I'm trying to help a mate here

He's just brought over an 03 train from the states, in the process the battery has died in the process

Easy fix, bought a new battery, plugged her in and no broom broom

I'm guessing it's an alarm issue, the bike cranks but there is no spark to the leads?

When you turn the ignition on, the right indicator keeps flashing ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my mate is just about to lose the last 4 hairs left on his head

    thanks

    Dan

Your fob battery is dead.  If 03s came with fobs?  Otherwise I'd pull the master fuse - check you battery connections, then stick the fuse in and try again.

Thats right, does it have an alarm and a fob. They were an option back then not standard. The fobs were a push button type to turn security system on or off.
if it does have a fob then sometimes it can get out of synchronization, to fix do this. Press fob button for 10-15 seconds untill bike responds with 2 flashes of indicators, then it is back to normal.
If that doesn't work try this. Turn ignition on-off-on-off-on, then press and release left indicator twice. When the system flashes the indicators 1 to 4 times, turn the ignition off. Do this twice and see if it works then.
If no fob then check to see if it has a alarm. He may have a bike with alarm and no fob in which case he will need to get a couple and get them programmed by a H-D shop before the bike will start.
Or if it has no fob or alarm then he has other issues. Then we have to look at other things, but try these fixes first. Hope this helps.

And you're sure the FOB battery is in the right way around, right? It fits both ways (plus side or neg side) but only one is right.

And just one indicator? That's odd, but maybe unrelated to the non starting...maybe.

Bugger, so it's prolly the right voltage battery then too...

It's not one of the ones you press twice fast (once arms it) to disarm is it?

BTW, since it came from the States did someone just compliance the bike?

    Yep right fob battery

    & yes it's a double press

Might be something to do with compliance coz the front indicators have dual filament bulbs and stay on??

All I know is it has me fucked

A lot of US bikes have three wires in the indicators - we have 2. Simply figure out the right two (cut and tape the extra) and they work fine. Whoever did your compliancing seems to have fucked up, hense the one blinker and MAYBE the alarm/immobiliser problem.
