The shit season is here and with it comes the double demerit points and the real possibility of losing your license. So i always put the bike away for the fortnight. just cant risk it.

And for those of you that will be on the road, just be carefull of those fuckers out there who wil be either pissed, stoned, asleep, or texting while theyre driving. fuck i hate this time of the year.

    Bah humbug to everyone.

It's a good time to ride the back roads IMO as the police usually patrol the main roads mostly this time of year. But in saying that I had a few mates get done recently at Broke on the back roads near the vineyards doing 85 ks over in a 80 zone just cruising along. The new hwy commodore/falcons cars look stock on coming , much harder to pickup until it's too late.

165k's just cruizing...hate to see when they are in a hurry....

riding sports tourers, 165km/h is nothing on a big bore jap sports tourer. BTW another reason I'm glad I don't ride them anymore. $2200 fine and 6 months of catching the bus, fuk that.

Yes I agree Shingles speeding is safe provided its in the right area I.e back roads with no traffic . I love a good play too but does sux when ya get busted. Years ago I got kicked out of a sports riding club as they reckoned I rode like a fucken idiot . HWY patrol are cunts these days , be careful Shingles they don't give a fuck that you got a mortgage and kids to feed , they'll throw the book at ya and then go have a wank.

Geez tough crowd. I have been on plenty of back roads in 80 zones where it was perfectly safe , car and people free , to give the bike a good handful. 165 on a sports tourer is probably safer than doing 110-120 on a soft tail.

I think you two blokes are total wankers , why would you be glad they got pinged. As I said it was in the middle of nowhere on a country road FFS. Sure if was in the Main Street in peak hour , I'd agree. I don't give a fuck about the road rules and never have but I do ride and drive with common sense not because a sign says to go 80. The govt think we need protecting from our selfs that is why most speed limits are slower than what they should be IMO. The govt can go get fucked I'm sick of this big brother shit and stupid road rules and do gooders.

I've done my share of speeding, but I draw the line when you put other people's safety at risk. Suicide is legal but manslaughter isn't.

I don't know the road near Broke that Fatboy refers to, but the fact it is an 80km/hr zone implies that there may be rural driveways adjoining the road, or blind corners, or school bus stops, or slow moving vineyard machinery, etc. So a reasonable chance that 85km over would have been potentially putting other lives at risk.

+1 there... Fuckwits like that are just the excuse the cops and polies need to put stupid laws in place that impact the remaining 99.9% of riders who are sensible.

Now now forum benders, We are being reminded of the double demerit holiday season. Why attack a comment from member saying what his mates did?.
We have all been there and done that and to say we haven't then that's bull shit. There is a time and a place, some of us use it and some don't. Why be hypocritical?
There have been countless other threads on speeding and how fast have you gone, top speed blah blah blah, and no one has been so scolded because of their actions, or indeed their mates actions on the road.
Yes, We know it was wrong, Speeding is wrong OK. But we still do it.
Excess noise is wrong, but some of us still have excessively loud pipes.
Illegal mods are wrong, but some of us still have illegal mods.
Illegal lids are wrong, blah blah,
    Double demerrits are wrong, IMO
Uninsured bikes are wrong, blah blah,
Uregistered bikes are wrong, blah blah.
We know all these things are wrong but some still do it. Get my point.
Yes we know we will think twice about posting truthes we face on the forum due to the amount of negative and personal comments some members make.
What is a warning to some is an insult to others. What is a saving to some means we are not supporting the right retailers to others. What is right to some, is wrong for others.
I was going to ask," Why can't members be nicer to each other", but then i realised we are all bad ass bikers who don't GAF. Not the caring motorcycle enthusiasts that share a common interest, and try to help each other that i once thought we were!

Gotta agree with you Hutch-man, people find it easy to hide behind a keyboard and try to impose their moral values on others. I guess that is the down side to modern technology, back in the day people had to be front and centre to try and impose their opinions and morals on you and if you didn't like it..... biffo... :) ;)
