gday  i have a switchback . the bike is great  but it really needs better shocks to handle qld goat tracks. any suggestions. i rode a 2014 street glide on the weekend and was amazed how smooth it was. i am wondering if the street glide shocks would fit a switchback. cheers

How much do you want to spend? JRI / Ohlins for $800 - $1000 the best money can buy. Or you have Ikon shocks for around $500.

Legend air shocks with onboard compressor is the only way to go. Yes a bit more $ but limited lifetime warranty, great customer service and the best shockies you will ever buy.

The SG air shocks are an inch shorter than the ultra ones and work better if you upgrade the oil to around double the weight. This makes the rebound a bit more stable and eliminates the pogo effect. Have you played with all the pre load settings on the switchback. They handle better when a bit stiffer. If you find it bounces off the road when too stiff, it's the rebound and heavier oil should sort that out by slowing it down. The streetglide has a completely different frame and suspension geometry set up to the dyna, so you'll never get the dyna to be an FLH. If you are on the south side of Brissy, drop me a pm.

I'm running progressive 416 air shocks on the bagger after fucking around with differnt weight oil on the stock air shocks for years. The 416 are way better then the showa stockers but large pot holes can still give the old back a good jarring. I found ohlins very good on my old dyna but got sick of setting the spring preload everytime I took a pillon for a ride.
