Voiding warranty

Just told my dealer where I bought the bike that I am getting an independant bike shop to install cams, power vision and give it a custom tune - and he tells I'm voiding my warranty?

if something goes wrong, the bike isn't covered unless I use all HD parts installed by. Authorised dealership.

This has probably been covered before, but I don't want to get into a legal battle and certainly don't have the money to pay for major repairs myself.

    Anyone know anymore about this?

It sounds about right,,I would pay the stealer to do it, but you know you are spending a LOT of money for not much gain without head work etc.

I don't believe all your warranty would be void. Only the warranty associated with the parts fitted and any collateral damage if something goes wrong with those parts, or the way they were installed. And in the case of using SE parts, fitted by an Indy, HD would have to prove that it was poor workmanship of the Indy that caused any damage.

I used SE204 cams in my one year old bike, fitted by an Indy, then tuned with a power vision. I have confidence that my warranty is not void.

What does the owners manual state?  I'm overseas, otherwise I would check my own manual.
