Are you sure it is FXNG? Could the 'N' be a 'W'?
not sure if this picture shows up, I am new to these forums but, yes it definetly has on the sticker 1986 FXNG HARLEY FAVIDSON. It also has on there rebuilt wreck as u can see if the pictures work.. I am pretty sure the N stands for nostalgia ?? Thank you for your reply!
If it's 1986 it's not a Dyna. No such thing as an FXNG and the Nostalgia thing didn't show up until the did the Freisian Glide.
Post a pic of the entire frame.
Sorry soappot but are u serious, Why not? I was given the impresion that it had already been registured here before, PLEASE dont tell me that beore i have even started my first Harley build may come to a quick end,
Soappot can u tell just from looking at the frame or from the nodel mumber that was on the frame enginered sticker.. think i need to speak with my mate to clarify things before i go ahead and statrt spending time and money on it..
haha... he was quick with that one, so it would be great if i could work out what model it is.
This is what my mate sent me with some relevant information of frame and what parts I got aswell..I am yet to see if the Evo engine fits but I am lead to believe it does. Well I hope it does as I already have one lined up for it.. More photos of frame to come very shortly..
Hey bud went through my stuff today this is what I have
Progressive 412 rear shocks to suit dyna set up - Rear FLH guard with brake light and number plate bracket, currently black - Front polished fat boy wheels - Front guard - Le Pera siolliout seat - Rear guard struts - Genuine harley shift linkage - Genuine harley speedo and dash panel - Set of 4 indicators - Belt pulley - Genuine HD rear brake caliper to suit dyna set up - Polished front brake caliper - Screaming eagle front end witg progressive springs and strut brace. Dunright fx frame with new head stem bearings and a 4 degree rake. Frame has been engineered and cant register at any point so u domt need to take over regency.
Dunrite is/was a firm from the northside of Brisbane. They were a shop or two away from a custom shop owned by the Rebels.
Ok now we have worked out it's not a genuine harley frame, the frame is a 1986 dyna fx frame made by dunrite and has larger diameter steel used for strenght and a 4 degree rake. Now stamped on the engineering sticker it says FXNG not FXWG!! Now i am guessing it has something to do with it being a custom frame and the NG stands for narrow glide as aposed to WG wide glide.
Ihave purchased a downloaded service and repair manual which covers FLH, FLT and FXR models from 1985 and FXWG models from 1985-1986. Would this information be relevant for ny bike.
I am also looking for an illustrated parts manual to suit my bike so i can sourse which parts are needed and will suit my frame.
Question.. Will all parts that suit DYNA FX MODELs fit my frame ?
ANY COMMENTS AND REPLYS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..
Most likely a 1986 FXWG. Non-Dyna Wide Glide. Only '85 and '86 models came with evo engine, four speed and kickstarter with belt final drive. Dyna Wide Glides came much later. The good news is that this is a very desirable model. Your frame number should start with 1HD1BEL20GY.
