Aged 22, I've been riding for 3 years on a Honda CBR 125 and it's time to bring the fun back into riding; not just an everday commute. I realised the missed opportunity that I had 30 minutes every morning and afternoon to and from work, to truly enjoy riding! It's why I am selling my Repsol CBR 125 and ordering a MY14 Sportster 48 with V&H short shots, SE heavy breather and the SE race tune in black. Cannot wait to jump on the Harley and be part of the HOG in WA. I've been a lurker since last year while I was contemplating whether or not to get the Iron 883, but the 48 just comes with more as standard like forward controls (I'm just over 180cm tall), inverted mirrors and of course the 1203cc over the 883cc of the Iron. Although I am very keen on getting my hands on a Nightster tank to do a tank swap! I digress ... I look forward to being a proud owner of a Harley Davidson and joining you guys in the banter. If there are any other mods that are "MUST DOS" for the 48 let me know!
Welcome , #1 must do , ride .
Welcome
Welcome aboard js enjoy the ride.
Cheers for the warm welcome everyone. I will be riding it everyday to and from work, so that won't be a problem!

Picking up the bike tomorrow, cannot wait!!! Pipes, air cleaner and tune are still about a month away due to the MY14 models having the O2 sensors deeer in the pipes or somthing,
Nevertheless, tomorrow will be a good day! Thanks for the warm welcome
Welcome Junn, I didnt think you could change the pipes until after the first service ? I got the 883 for rding to work, but I have also been from Perth to Albany on it. The HOG group at Farsers are a great bunch. I hope you enjoy your new bike.
Today is the day! Delivery in T minus 2 hours!!!
So get this. Picked up the bike from the dealership, boy was she a beauty! Riding it back to work (I picked up the bike on my lunch break) and just as I enter the car park, some 19 year old kid not even wearing a shirt in his Audi convertible hits me from behind!!! Needless to say the bike is at the dealership getting a quote on repairs to take him and his insurance company for everything, but NOT the best way to start the riding history with the bike. Quick question, will it be forever registered in PPSR as a repairable write off or will it not even be mentioned?
Sorry to hear of this accident, I understand that you'd be fairly pissed at the moment but glad that you're ok. Insurance will sort it all out, but disapointing you didn't even get the chance to get a ride in over the xmas break.
Good news is that Perth Harley Davidson are doing everything they can so I can go pick it up tomorrow. It will be in near show room condition, they will fix everything up properly after the new year so I can ride it over the Christmas break!!! Swann Insurance have already got their assessors onto the case and have picked up the ball really quickly. At the end of the day, if shit hits the fan, it's more important on how it's handled. Happy days ahead!
