Had a very good turn out in Hobart even suprised me, attended by bikers from all sectors, President of the motorcycle council of Australia spoke on various topics regarding Queenslands problems and how it could spread if not stopped at its roots, law association of Tasmania had a dude there who got everybody fired up and the state president of the Rebels MC gave a well recieved speech also, all in all it was a good turn out in support of our Queensland Brothers no matter who they are or ride with.

Qld ride went off pretty good ... they say about 2000 ... not sure myself , but there were a hell of a lot of bikes and not just Harley`s ... only thing up here at the Qld rally was I reckon they could have had a better sound system ... it was a bit hard to hear at times .

Just hope that isn`t the only time the brotherhood get together ... I know it is only a small thing but if the numbers dwindle badly then the powers that be will see there is no staying power with in the Bike riding ranks ... and I think sadly this is not going to be easy to get back to the way it was before .

we need to keep "the noise" in their ears long enough so they know we arent going away!
Legal challenges may be the only way this can move forward?

Seems like all the rides went off ok with no real fuk ups or drastic intervention by plod....for once....
It even looks like most capital city papers, and even regionals, gave the national aspect of the rides a bit of a run...TV news was more varied on themes,
some supportive, some not so much, but it made news at least, I remember the first Umc protest run on Parliament back in 09' or 10' getting completely
    ignored by most media.
Now that 'any' biker stories have etched a space on the printing template in most newsrooms occasionally a positive one slips through...well done to all who bothered or wanted to.

The only way to make the freedom rides count is to now contact your local member, not just by email/letter but in person. Point out the flaws in these unnecessary laws and let them know that you will be voting according to their stance on the issue.

Good point Burnzi, I don't like the prick but I think I can put that aside for a polite little yarn.

Here Say I know ... but was told today that the Qld police have been given a directive from Senior police to get a 5 bike rider per day quota ... and if they didn`t like it they could always work elsewhere .

It didn't matter if any of the 5 were booked but had to pull over and question 5 Bike riders ... again only a assumption but I don`t think it is to hard to believe Newman's idea is to discourage any new bike rider or riders who are unwilling to put up with being hassled and of course then rider numbers will drop .

Not sure myself if this strategy could or will work but doesn't surprise me one bit .

For the China`s and Neo`s of the world ... yes this is Here Say but it has come from a serving Female police officer who also says that she and other officers are not happy about it and are hopeful the police union may be able to help in the long run ... the problem though is the union are also working their own agenda and are using this whole situation to get more goodies for them selves out of the government .

Oh well , the battle continues ... now where's those stamps .

I had a good ride to Brisbane, a bit of a trip, but hassle free for the day. I was glad to get off the bike at the end of the day. I left around 2:30am, and didn't get back home until around 6:30 pm. Then I just crashed. I thought it was a good turn out.

Yes it was a long day but it was a good ride as well, so it was doing 2 things at the same time, 1 showing support of fellow riders, and the best one was an excuse to go for a good long ride. I believe there is another ride to Canberra coming up, I am thinking of giving that a go, but I am not sure I will make that one in a day. at least not there and back. I went to my sister's funeral a couple of months ago that took me a few days to get to. I made Rocky to Grafton on the first day, then to Canberra the second day, and into Orbost by the next afternoon. Mind you that was following the coast down.

It's always hard losing family, Clive. My thoughts are with you. I lost two close uncles in the space of three months this year.

Thank you for the thoughts, and back at you Spook, it seems this year was not a good year for so many, may the next year be a much better one, my goal next year is to chalk up more miles than I did this year. So to everyone in this forum, all the best for the new year.
