Howdy, noticed when i bought my bike, 2009 Road King, it had a whining noise in 5th gear only so upon changing engine oil i dropped the transmission oil and threw in some Redline Heavy Duty shock proof hoping to reduce the noise all to no avail. Having done some brief research it seems that the 5th gear was straight cut not helical(?) and in turn is a normal sound.

Has anyone had any luck in eliminating the whining noise and what oil did you use in the primary?

Tell you what FLHuTChU, Road King is much quieter than me old Dyna now the pipes are well and truly behind me.
