    Speak to Walker/ Ian from VPW, he knows all the regs and knows all the people you need to speak to. I believe your better off just buying a new frame .

    Changing the Frame is the corect way to go, The Bike should be Engineered if it was the Stock Frame modifed or changed,to a Aftermarket one. all it takes is one smart Cop and there is plenty of them out there, 

    But here is a Photo of a bike that was at the Bankstown show a few years ago that inpressed me with a home made Hard Tail

    Tattoo U, that kit looks good, but for me i'd buy a new ridged frame and swap as much as i could from an imported bike if found cheap enough. I personally couldnt be bothered cutting up and welding on a rear end when there are frames available to do the job "right". And i think it'll end up looking better with a complete frame.
