Hi guys, I'm just wondering if it's possible to find the paint codes from a bikes VIN, or would you need to get them from a dealer? Cheers.

Sorry mate .. HD do not give out paint codes to anyone, for any reason, ever, not even to dealers .. if its a straight colour a good painter can match the colour quite well .. if its a pearl colour your screwed, ya gotta buy the tin pre-painted .. thats from my experience after bumping into the rear guard of a mates fatboy and putting a minor crease in the bottom of his guard.

I would think that any reputable painter that does insurance work on Harleys would have to paint it to the code. They can't. Just make it up to what they think. It would fade different than original and look shit otherwise. My 2 c.

Just paint it with your own colour scheme

Hey Ash, here is a paint code list that KC posted in 07. I wonder how he got it? It goes to 07 model bikes.

 I found out my bike colour is rich sun glo blue,  by watching  a YouTube vid of another bike that had exact same colour as mine. I found heaps of other cool paint stuff using google by searching the colour name. Cheers once again.
