    Guys

As a relatively newbie here since April 2013 i'm wondering if you guys do a annual forum ride / meet up ?  I figure with 9000 odd members here , even if 0.01% of members turned up it would still be a good turn out.

i.e  a nominated weekend , ride , food , drinky ,  bullshit would be a lot of fun .   I would be keen on attending.

    Thoughts please

I read somewhere on the forum that there is an annual event organised.  Where , I dont know !!!!    It would be a plus to put faces to names !!!!

No doubt an administrator will chime in with more info if there is one !!!!

Keep your eyes open in the interstate rides and events.

Although not a annual pilgramage (yet), the next SA v's Vic is at Lacselles in Vic first weekend in March 14.

I'm a relative newbie too and when I did my Q-Ride, the instructor advised me to never go on large group rides because they are about the most dangerous thing you can do on a bike. sad

What my Q-ride instructor was talking about was that there are a lot of idiots (maybe newbies too) that have no idea how to ride in large groups. They are a danger to everyone around them.
There was a thread here recently discussing poker runs and charity runs etc and most of the guys that answered said that they quit rides they went on because they considered it way too dangerous.
I've never been on one so I don't know from experience. Most I've ridden with is 3. I reckon if I went on one at this stage of my experience you'd want to keep away from me.

crookneez.. just ride at your own ability.
It's easy to get caught up in it all if you're pushing it a little (or a lot).. Don't get too tightly packed in, just sit at the back and cruise.. keep a comfortable distance and you'll be fine.
I'd feel way safer at the back of a bunch of bikes than I would a bunch cagers that don't even notice you're there.

I believe Q-ride is a Morgan and Wacker motorcycle scheme approved by the Qld government.
The intent is to train and assess riders to get them onto bigger bikes quicker.
This way they would hope to boost sales of both BMW and Harley Davidson.

Fancy Qld wanting to fast track a learner rider onto a Harley.
