Raise footboards on my Heritage

I have been having a few little issues with different things for my bike, as we all do from time to time. I have been grinding my footboards away for for a while now and I am getting a little  bit ticked off about it. I would like to know if there is a kit I can buy that will allow me to pick these things up 30mm or 40mm, I think it would make a world of difference to the way the thing can be used. I also have to be awkward and say I have been told I can get extended forks, but that would make it look like the arse is dragging, and I don't want that, and I get a bit worried if i lift the rear it will look like i am trying to make a trail bike out of it, I know i am a lazy bugger at times, and if I REALLY have to then I suppose I can make my own up. I would prefer not to if I can. I had a similar problem with my luggage rack, they were al to small for what I wanted to I had to make one up, but because I want it chromed I have to make up another, as they want to plate it before assembly, something about it being hard to polish when it is all assembled, it seems chrome it, assemble it and rechrome it then all the bits that are hard to reach are already polished, so it is easier that way. I just have to be a little better with my detailing.

I don't know why it wouldn't paste earlier, but this is my mock up for my rack, can only hope that a footboard mount wouldn't be much in making either, just try to be a bit lazy sometimes.

Well I don't know if anyone is interested, but I ha decided to make up a couple of blocks to raise the foot boards by 25mm, the poor old camera doesn't like close ups on fiddly little bits, but you get the idea.

Then from above it looks pretty good as well.

I will give them a try out on the way to work this afternoon and let you now if they worked or if they were a failure and I took them off. I know 25mm doesn't seem much, but sometimes it is a huge amount of space to loose. If worse comes to worse I will just have to get use to that scraping I get when turnin with a bit of a lean.

Well I have learned it is not a sport bike so I needed to slow down a bit, but it did need a bit more lean I think. I do think if I did lean it like a sport bike then like Baloff said it will scrape no matter what, the signs were promising today, no scrape on the way to work or coming home, so that is a good thing for me, but it is early days yet, I will see how it goes and see if it grows on me, or if I put it back the way it was.

I think I am coming to terms with not leaning the bike very much, but as mentioned earlier I was still scraping foot boards, and now I have raised them 25mm I have found I am not scraping anymore, so for me the idea worked, I know it is still not a sport bike, but that inch did make a difference and so I will be keeping them there.
