Hey guys, I've got a 96 FXD Dyna. After changing the pipes, new coil, checking seals, changing plugs, it keeps fouling them after about 10 mins of having her running, has a pretty bad pop and even shot the odd flame out of the pipes. Running rough to say the least. I've played around with it enough to frustrate me to the point of taking it to be looked and and serviced by someone who knows what there doing.
Anyway issue is I obviously can't ride it anywhere so can does anyone know of anyone who would be able to pick it up and and get it out to a shop to be repaired, or do any shops in Perth offer to pick bikes up, etc.
Really wanna get her on the road for summer so want to get the problem fixd, get it serviced and wheel it. Any help or advice would be great. Cheers in advance
EFI or carb
Check the fault codes and see what numbers are coming up. Anyway it could be a few things like piggy back tuner has taken a dump, crank sensor, injectors or wiring to them, Blocked jets in carb, ignition system failing, Tell us what you have and we might be able to help save you a few dollars.
Just tried it on mine. says I need more beer
Haha na thats all good mate.
Its a carby, I've tried fresh fuel, basic carb overhaul (havent cleaned or touched the jets though), new coil, new leads, I changed the the pipes to a set of short shots, however it had the problem before the pipes were changed, new gaskets with the pipes, new intake rubber as well. I put new plugs in it and it runs well while she warms up with the choke out. Take it for a ride however within 5 minnutes she starts missing and popping and carrying on.
I'm in Beeliar (SOR) so was planning on taking it to Croc Power if I cant fix it with them being local in Hammy Hill, as I'm not too sure if Perth HD or Thundertech, etc will work on the older bikes at all is the thing
was just wondering weather it was due to bad ignition or a carbie issue as they can have a simler effect ,seeing you already have had the carb off before I would pull it off and go though the bowl again remove the jets clean it out try again for sake of $10 bucks for a can of carbie cleaner and a bit of time you may save a few hundred,
