    Hi all

I am thinking of getting a Sportster '07  883.  I haven't ridden one yet and won't have a chance for another week, but I am interested to know if the V-twin is a bit of a bone shaker at idle.  I know they have rubber mounted engines, but does this work?

Yes, they all shake at idle. The rubber mounted twins do smooth out on the open road though. They will shake again if you feed them too many revs, but revs are not what big twins are about. Have a blast on your test ride, and be prepaired to buy.

of course it does, it's a harley, it's suppose to shake ya nuts in ya sack, if ya want smooth, buy a japper, my nightster is my 1st harley & it idles nicely. No worries about the rubber mounts at all.

    Where are ya from blubarb

These days Sportsters don't rattle your teeth out, its just a nice rumble more than a shake.

Perth.  I can't wait to test ride - I love the look of the Night train but I don't know if I have the money for it, I imagine they would be in 20k plus.

Ah well, there goes that wish along with all the others.   I'll be more than happy with the 883 with forward controls (I think), another seat and some V & H long shots.  Yep, that'll do me.  Maybe later I might put a 1200 kit through it.
