Sadly Dan , not sure what I did there but when I copy and pasted that address it didn`t seem to come up with anything to do with bikes ... not to worry , thanks again anyhow .

    Worked for me??

If not type RWD tail light in the eBay search

I like it, but as my saintly mother always says, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one

Walka ... thanks for info ... they are a pretty cool looking motor .

Time for a couple more pics ... this is one idea we were going with for the new dash

Then we played with this idea thinking it would look cool with a sort of matching look to the Tombstone taillight ... but we found that with the Dakota Speedo / Taco being so much smaller than the original it looked out of place with the Ignition key .

So this is what Shane came up with and i am rapt with ... Gauge in line with Fuel holes , idiot lits nicely postioned just above .

Nice low and slim profile from front of tanks to rear of tanks .

A new mounting set up was needed to achieve the wanted look .

These were the bars i was going to use but at this stage couldn`t bring myself to having them painted black to suit the rest of the look so have decided to go for another type and these will be going on my 2008 Twin Cam ... they are out of Gworks in Geelong Vic. ... may still go back to these in the future , really like how close the bends are and think they would suit the thinner Springer front end .

The Black ones are the new bars ... you can see cearly the difference in where the bends are .

The New Springer front end all Blacked out except the springs and shock .

Nice rear view pic ... again the whole blacked out look ... and how`s the size of that exhaust hole ... Burble Burble .

A late model set of risers with of course the black treatment .

Looking down from above ... all the electrical lines will be run through bars ... old school grips .

Nice new rear rotor to match front ... One of the few shiny bits , Lol ... love the look of the contrast cut outs on the end cone of the Freedom exhausts .

Spacer Shane is making up for front wheel ... should look sweet the way it matchs the shape and size of exhaust cone ... will be heaps of little things like that over the bike when it`s finished ... paint is in now so getting close .

Thats not my wheel , just a pic to give the idea of how it will look .

Well thats it for now ...  you all stay upright and safe now .

    Tim .

looking good tim where you going too strip and powder coat the frame flat black or leave it a bit of both gloss/flat ? I know what you mean about black/chrome bars
got black on my red softail and just don't look right and less you go all black ,you got me thinking about a single on my next build too ,your certainly going hard making it yours
    keep up the good work

WOW Tim, looking very kick ass. Good choice on the pipe, should help reduce drag pipe sag on the tuning and the style looks like you mean business. I reckon the wider bends on the handle bars will help accentuate the motor more now youve got a wider rear tyre on her but I know what u mean worried about the look of the springer front. It looks too cool on its own though eh lol.

You going with footboards or pegs?

some info on that top tree would be great when you have time.

    Thanks

Thanks PerthHog ... the frame is in really good nick so am going to keep the Gloss finish to contrast against the Flat Black paint ... it wasn`t easy going for the Black look , if anyone has seen my pics section of my 2008 Softail then it`s easy to see I don`t mind a tiny bit of Chrome , Lol ... but hopefully the Gloss accents will work well against the Flat Black parts ... my worst habit is trying to have more patience ... I`m about 4 to 5 months in with hopefully a month to go ... it`s not easy sleeping at night , Lol .

Thanks Dan , appreciate the words .

NoUndieSunday ... going with foot pegs at this stage , at the moment they are in stock position ... currently run 3" extensions on my 2008 TC so it will be interesting to feel the difference in ride ability ... The 2 into 1 pipes I agree should help in the tuning ... there will be a tad less Hp out of the Springer as opposed to TC so every bit will help , Lol ... but I`m not building it to be a speed freak ... I may end up being wrong but I think the Springer will actually handle considerably better than my TC , with the 19" front wheel and steering head rake being not as stretched out compared to the 08 Softail ... I will dig out my receipts about the top triple tree brand name , Shane the Master builder put me on to it , gives you far more choices for different Handlebars ... The Dash sure did come out nice and with it following the curve of the Tanks should look sweet .

Squid 83 ... your not on your Pat Malone there , I`m hanging for the final look ... you get a mental picture in your head and sometimes it doesn't quite work the way you think but to be honest apart from a couple of small differences between the builder Shane and my self it is coming out so far exactly as I envisioned ... stay tuned guys .

    Tim .

Mate, best project I've seen for ages. Thought were mad at the start tearing up a gorgeous springer...it looks red hot, dash is mad. The whole thing is cherry ripe. Keep going mate, and it just floats my bloody boat. It's going to be red hot.

Thanks guys for the encouraging words , it does help in those times of self doubt when one starts to think ... FARK , what am I doing , I already have a nice bike ... Lol .

I know you can only ride one bike at a time but it sure will be nice to have a choice on Fantastic weather week ends like we have up here in Brizzy at the moment ... hope things have cooled down somewhat for our Southern Brothers and Sisters .

Will have a small update shortly ... Tim .

Hi again guys ... just a small update ... this was the spacer Shane started to make up for the front wheel ... here in the very early stages and if you scroll back up the post a little you will see where he has it next to the exhaust cone and another i think just sitting on a wheel to give the idea of how it would look .

Here it is nice and finished bolted up , with the bolt holes all machined out and coated with Black to not ony go with the Springer legs and front guard support but also to mirror the look of the Exhaust cone ... but wait there`s more , Lol .

This is where the vision of top quality bike builders come into their own i reckon ... i was more than happy at how it was coated Black but Shane said how about taking it back to the clean look and see and i reckon it was the right choice as the spacer now flows with the wheel hub ... it`s not earth shattering but just the type of detail that makes a difference ... and as Shane mentioned , down the track you can allways coat it Black again to see how it looks .

All nice and Shiny , Lol ... till next time guys ... Tim .

Great looking project so far Tim, loving all the pics and that spacer and dash look shit hot. Looking forward to more pics, & finally the finished project. Any ideas on what your plans are for paint work on the tins, mild, wild, or stock look?  Keep up the good work, she's going to be a Beauty when done.

the hub cover looks great tim ,its hard mixing things up at times if the hub was black perfect , alloy hub and cover perfect worth the effort of your builder that's for sure
as for your forward controls you can get the extension plates from Vulcan engineering for them cheap had 3 on mine have gone to 2 on my last build ?(havnt ridin it yet)
you made me do it too I just brought a 2 into 1 nos screaming eagle exhaust out of states for one of my builds, keep up the good work

06 Softail ... thanks mate , paint isn`t going to be to wild , will be the flat black look with minimal 5o`s / 60`s White & Red pin striping with Satin / Gloss Black accents ... things like the Dash going from the front of Tanks to rear of Tanks will be Satin ... the low profile fuel caps ... the Wheel Rims ... the Frame ... things like that with other little things here and there ... the only real colour over the whole bike will be the above mentioned pin striping as well as the 1960 Arrow Head Tank badges and just to break things up a little more will be a small touch of chrome as you can see from the pics of the rotors and the Softail Custom motor .

Perth Hog ... Sorry for being a temptation on your choice of pipes , Lol ... I have Vulcan on my favourite's list , got a set of raked steering head cups from them for a mates Super Glide , he loves them ... have we seen any of your pics .

Noundiessunday ... mate have a look at " V . TWIN Manufacturing for the top triple tree conversion and heaps of other good stuff .

Will post some more pics as soon as I get them , thanks again guys ... Tim .
