Time for a couple more pics ... this is one idea we were going with for the new dash
Then we played with this idea thinking it would look cool with a sort of matching look to the Tombstone taillight ... but we found that with the Dakota Speedo / Taco being so much smaller than the original it looked out of place with the Ignition key .
So this is what Shane came up with and i am rapt with ... Gauge in line with Fuel holes , idiot lits nicely postioned just above .
Nice low and slim profile from front of tanks to rear of tanks .
A new mounting set up was needed to achieve the wanted look .
These were the bars i was going to use but at this stage couldn`t bring myself to having them painted black to suit the rest of the look so have decided to go for another type and these will be going on my 2008 Twin Cam ... they are out of Gworks in Geelong Vic. ... may still go back to these in the future , really like how close the bends are and think they would suit the thinner Springer front end .
The Black ones are the new bars ... you can see cearly the difference in where the bends are .
The New Springer front end all Blacked out except the springs and shock .
Nice rear view pic ... again the whole blacked out look ... and how`s the size of that exhaust hole ... Burble Burble .
A late model set of risers with of course the black treatment .
Looking down from above ... all the electrical lines will be run through bars ... old school grips .
Nice new rear rotor to match front ... One of the few shiny bits , Lol ... love the look of the contrast cut outs on the end cone of the Freedom exhausts .
Spacer Shane is making up for front wheel ... should look sweet the way it matchs the shape and size of exhaust cone ... will be heaps of little things like that over the bike when it`s finished ... paint is in now so getting close .
Thats not my wheel , just a pic to give the idea of how it will look .
Well thats it for now ... you all stay upright and safe now .
Tim .
WOW Tim, looking very kick ass. Good choice on the pipe, should help reduce drag pipe sag on the tuning and the style looks like you mean business. I reckon the wider bends on the handle bars will help accentuate the motor more now youve got a wider rear tyre on her but I know what u mean worried about the look of the springer front. It looks too cool on its own though eh lol.
You going with footboards or pegs?
some info on that top tree would be great when you have time.
Thanks
Love a springer. Nice work mate
Hi again guys ... just a small update ... this was the spacer Shane started to make up for the front wheel ... here in the very early stages and if you scroll back up the post a little you will see where he has it next to the exhaust cone and another i think just sitting on a wheel to give the idea of how it would look .
Here it is nice and finished bolted up , with the bolt holes all machined out and coated with Black to not ony go with the Springer legs and front guard support but also to mirror the look of the Exhaust cone ... but wait there`s more , Lol .
This is where the vision of top quality bike builders come into their own i reckon ... i was more than happy at how it was coated Black but Shane said how about taking it back to the clean look and see and i reckon it was the right choice as the spacer now flows with the wheel hub ... it`s not earth shattering but just the type of detail that makes a difference ... and as Shane mentioned , down the track you can allways coat it Black again to see how it looks .
All nice and Shiny , Lol ... till next time guys ... Tim .
Great looking project so far Tim, loving all the pics and that spacer and dash look shit hot. Looking forward to more pics, & finally the finished project. Any ideas on what your plans are for paint work on the tins, mild, wild, or stock look? Keep up the good work, she's going to be a Beauty when done.
