My mate has just purchased a new breakout. He has been trying to convince me that the backlight colour can be changed, I have been through his manual back to front and can't figure it out. I went to the HD website and they verify his claim that it can be changed.

Can anyone help with what to do to change the colour?

I just change the tint of my sunglasses mate, it's pretty easy and quicker then figuring out how else to do it..

In all seriousness, I did either read or watch a hd video on this. I too have a breakout but I'm unsure.

if it is the same as mine,

a. turn the ignition switch to the accessory position

b. press and hold the trip reset switch until the odo reads "colour". Release the reset switch.

c. Click the trip reset switch to scroll through the available colours using course adjustment in +20 increments. I think that should be 'coarse'

d. Press and hold the trip reset switch to fine tune the colour adjustment.

e. When the desired colour is reached, release the button. After the button is released, the gauge must remain powered for 5 seconds.

f. When the colour has been set, the word "colour" will no longer be displayed in the LCD. The gauge automatically reverts back to the display mileage. Power then can be turned off.

If the colour has not been set, repeat step 1.

From memory it is easier to do than the above would appear.

The web site says my 2013 can do that too but the dealer said it can't be done. I tried the above but that method only allows me to adjust the clock.
