My bike has shit itself..... What's the best ignition system for my 1988 softail?

I have a 103cui s&s motor in it. It's at the shop now getting worked on and they suggest putting in a crane hi-4. What do you guys think? What about the dyna 2000i or a Daytona? I'm only new to this and got the bike last week and it's already getting worked on.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

a mate had had a h4 crane in his dyna evo and I have had a dyna 2000i in two different bikes/motors for over 6 years no problems both been around along time ,
some will say this is better than that but at the end of the day its all made in china the ultima ignition is supposed to be good value but use a different coil
as they are a bit cheap looking /small ?

Yeah I'm going for a new ignition and the coils to suit. The dyna 2000i is brand new and already shit itself. It's done about 20min work.

I just helped rebuild a mates evo and we went with the DTT as the crane was breaking down on the rear cylinder with engine heat.

I would put forward that they are pretty much all the friggin same nowadays so it really comes down to what feature set u want. I like to be able to program the unit via a laptop and have control over setting my own ignition curves, rpm limits etc etc, so I chose one that met these criteria.

List what you want first and then look at what features the units offer...it will make selection easier.

Did the ignition go into shut down mode eg flashing red lights, this can be caused by bad coil or coils or a short in wiring. my dyna 2000i would run for about 10 minutes then went into shut down mode, then would restart after about an hour and do the same thing again , checked coils all ok. so i decided to hot wire the bike eliminating all other wiring. bango she stopped again thus ignition module stuffed. purchased an ultima same unit as 2000i and fitted fired up again no probs. maybe these cone fitted units are too close to heat souces eg exhaust and engine. so just saying it might not be the module. but could be
