just had to remove my near new freedom outlaw exhaust because of it cracking near the front oxy sensor.

it cracked about 3/4 of the way around.diddnt notice the crack as it was hidden by the heat shield, but it was starting to pop and fart a fair bit,so decidided to take a look.

i wanted to remove pipes anyway  and replace with old set up due to disapointing dyno result. lost 7hp and same tq. not real flash for a so called performance pipe.

going thru the warrenty claim with rollies at the momment.

looking at the way the pipes mount up the back mount bolts to frame and front moves with the motor creating a fair amount of flex .the original set up bolts to the motor and moves as one

wondering if any one else has had this happen.surprise

    .

Cracked Pipes are common with a Rubber mount Sportster, Even more with a long type of system like yours. Your lucky it's behind the Heat Shield you can just mig it back up.

As far as losing HP, Every time you make a change with Air Intake and Exhaust you must retune the Bike, A good Bike Tuner should be able to get back if not make more power once he is done.

    cheers walka.

not going to worry about welding old pipes. im over them.

bike was tuned when these pipes went on by the same tuner on the same dyno and he could'nt squeeze any more from it.

so in the market for new pipes, any ideas appreciated.
