Thanks Guys all done will try as they were great on 2011 Road King
Tim your ESP is uncanny, i rang the dealer today to check on progress and was told nil stock ex Melb warehouse. Now when i ordered they indicated that there is one set available so hopefully that set is now mine! If not 3 weeks wait ex USA....
Well just my luck 3 weeks wait.......on back order!
Big test today of newly fitted gear . Near 800km day trip with wife as pillion . Fork deflectors teamed with 7"Freedom curved shield , fucking brilliant , different bike , no wind to face at all .
Boom upgrade amp and speakers , , 120km/h and clear as a bell .Loaded 1300 songs to an ipod nano , and shuffled through 150 odd today .
We used the Sena headsets and were able to talk to each other through the trip , whilst listening to music from fairing speakers . Always with the exhaust in the background , this made for an amazing day trip that even the minister of war and finance was completely taken with as well .
For the fuel comsumption questions , a 300km stretch on cruise at 120km/h , 6 litres per 100km .
Definately the best bike I,ve owned .
Was on country " B " roads , signposted 110km/h . Reckon speedo would be reading higher than actual speed , so probably doing 113-115 real speed . Will check once I get GPS . Was a good fuel test .
It,s not Victoria (yet) so I don,t expect to get pinged for a couple over .
Paul & Tim Thank-you for all the info you have passed on. Been fun reading all the banter.
I am still a little undecided which bike (Road King or Street Glide) but looking at pics & reading what you guys have done is great.
So from me personally I thanks you heaps. Good to stick in the memory & makes my descision easier when the time arrives.
Different beasts the Road King or Street Glide . Fairing on Streety covers your hands , have ridden in rain with dry gloves , and the stereo is great . Fairing on Roady unclips .
She who must be obeyed has chimed in to say the Sundowner seat is a ripper for pillions .
Thinking of 2 more speakers . Thought about in the pannier lids , but am worried of possible water leaks , and losing room . Think I may go the lower fairing with speaker pods , about $1400 . Will plug straight into fairing amp . Working today to pay for it ! Few more Saturdays to go .
Not sure what you mean Tim. Do you have a set of Ultra lowers or something that you are mounting the speakers in?
Found the pic Pauly . Can only take the blokes word that they fitted with no clearance issues .
Is this so you can entertain all of the troops on rides Tim? Had a few of the boys checking their bikes for strange noises on the Wilmington run a few weeks ago, only to find it was AC DC blaring from your bike.
Yeah , pimp my ride Graz .
Yes it is clearly written in parts book , and there was a lot of discussion on it . The owner of pictured bike put discussion to rest ! He said with the amount of movement the deflectors have with their mounting points , clearance is there to fit with lowers . Guess I,ll find out in a couple months . Painted parts are done to order , 4-6 weeks from time of order .
There ya go mate. Next few mods for ya.
Just tried to fit a pair of Mustang pannier lid covers . They attach by hooking under the front and rear of the lids ( I was expecting velcro ) , and make closing the lids near impossible and interfere with the rubber seal . Will write letter off tonight . Not happy .
Thats pretty crap. Harley make a clear film that goes over the lid where you can still see the color but still protects the lid.
