mate throw in a set of Andrews 48s
Nice light bike go with the 54h and hang on. The lifters may need replacing while your in there so do some home work on your cam change as you will need oil pump orings, spacer for the cam, lifters, quick fit pushrods, gaskets, timken bearings. Its worth the money as it will pick up a 20 to 30 HP gain dependent on cam choice.
Chris I went 204's and it sounds angry. and got about the same result as Newschool... well Jimmy;s dyno dot reakoned 20% more grunt up in the 3,000rpm. 96B with SEPT Freedom pipes etc
cheers Jimmy
Hey Chris,
I've recently had a set of SE 255 cams fitted to my 2011 FXST. To best explain the change in power for me is to say it's more crisp, the sound is noticably deeper with a slight lope although my idle is set at 900 RPM which helps to eccentuate the lope. If you ride the majority of the time around 3000 RPM you will be happy with these cams.
Hey Chirs, I did consider the 254e but decided to go with the 255's as my mechanic (Frasers Fairy Meadow) had a customer that had changed from the 255's to the 254e & regretted doing so. I can't remeber the reason he gave for regretting the swap only that he preferred the 255's.
I have gone Crane Chris Rivas Rocket 574 cams for my 103 but they are not in yet as I want to put in the Fueling oil pump kit at the same time.
By lifters I take it you mean Pushrods?? Definitely adjustable mate, heaps more fucking around & expense to keep the solid ones! All up parts & labour cost me $1080 at Frasers Fairy Meadow, they had a deal on at the time that saved me $200..
