I have the Genuine Harley leather detachable saddlebags on my 09 FXDL, and didn't like the Harley option light bar that mounted the indicators up off the stalks and behind the licence plate. Looked a bit too bulky for me. So I bought a street glide rear indicator bar, and shaved down the back of it to fit the radius of the dyna fender. Then pulled apart the indicators and installed them in the light bar, smoked LED tailight and a 'real' laydown black licence plate Holder. Looks good for me!

I was going to do the same thing on my 16 model street bob but stopped the process due to the Led indicators, the wiring doesn't go through the stalks and basically the only way to do it I was told by the dealer was to have the wires exposed running next to the stalks I bought all the gear but am not going to proceed due to the wiring side of it.

I have a brand new black sissy bar, detachable side plates up for grabs if your interested

Thanks Potluck , I ended up jacking bike up to get swingarm to drop away , giving me clearance to remove indicator bolts .. am only attempting to fit non detachable sissy bar .. so removed bolts , wiring ,guard and all hardware .. Then purchased some endless threaded bar , cut to size (approx 1/4" longer than original bolts) , tightened into Indicators and then reassembled .. tightening up with a stainless nylock nut .. everything went in fine .. On the road again :) Cheers Ted

Hi Guys    still playing around with options to tidy up wiring issue with the led indicators on my street bob so i can use detatchable sissy bar just thought i would share my latest effort.

    Before

After.     This fender extension is from a fat boy low kit. you have to enlarge the holes a bit but otherwise easy enough to get on. also used a washer in beetween fender and rail same as other bolt hole so wiring wouldnt be crushed. also packed rear docking point out a bit with washers to clear the stalks i used. you may have to bend the side plates of the sissy bar a little to make it fit nice but its not too hard.

    With sissy bar on

Had to trim a bit off the sissy bar to stop it hitting indicator stalk.
