sounds like you couild buy yourself a good lift jack, a manual, the parts and a heap of slabs for that, with change and learn to do it yourself. Not much different to the old malvern star you'd pull down, respray and generally play with when you were a kid.Give it a crack and have a ball doing it,you've always got the guys here if you need advice. But i do understand sometimes the time may be a factor, but hey, here for a good time ,not a long time.

Yeah, it's not hard, but you'll probably need a special tool to remove the old bearings.

I've changed mine, but if I could have got Chopaweeza to do it at $200.00 plus parts, I probably wouldn't have bothered..... (I have no connection to Chopaweeza whatsoever!)

Don't suppose you'd pick up from SA for that price, Choppa?? :)

Yep....Do not stress too much about them as mine are notchy as well (original bearings on an 86 FXR)

Just get to them at some point in time and you will be fine.

Geez, that sounds a bit steep. I paid about $500, & that included hiding all the wires and cables inside my handlebars. This was not done at a Harley stealership either. I think they like to charge like wounded bulls. That's why I always try an independent wkshop.
