Ok guys just trying to sort fact from fiction
i rang a dealer who told me that if i change from my V&H 2-1 to a set of short shots then a retune is required. any useful input is greatly appreciated

I believe they're looking at it from a 'blinkers on - canned map' way of thinking. Yes, they are thinking they would need to select a 'canned map' from the drop down menu in SEPST which would change it from 2-1...to 2 into 2... thats all. you can do this, and more by buying the cable and software yourself.
(and no - i think you'd be ok, but I bet you will get some decel pop)
