    Hi

I belive my current rear shocks on my 2009 xl883l are 11 inches, i am looking for a 12 inch shockie so that i can have a lil more clearance and get my bike lift under it. After something relative cheap as my ride is just around town. Would 12 inch from a sporty custom fit, aybe i can get a seond hand pair, I am in Hervey bay

custom shocks are 11.75, so you gain 19mm. If you can find a cheap pair, go for it. Better off saving for real shocks though, and going 12.5 IMO

Thanks for your reply, but I am a short arse so i want to be able to keep my feet flat on the ground when stopped
I may have to spend more for decent pair but my budget is about $200 including freight

If you're comfortable with the height of the bike, why change it? I have Burly Slammer kits installed on both my Iron and Dyna (10.5'); scrape the pegs every corner and cant get the lift under either of them - but I love that!! That being said, I have two wooden blocks that I roll the bike onto whenever I need to work on it. If its for the simple sake of being able to get your bike off the ground and a a few mm's in clearance, just leave it and spend your money on something else.

Alternatively, if you're not in a hurry, keep your eye out on eBay; a set will come up!

Oh, any late model Sportser shocks will fit on your bike. Look for something from 2004 onwards (1993-2003 were different)

    Cheers
