Well its been a long wait, but it was finally ready to pick up last night! , It has been dry and hot for well over a month and the moment i got in the car to go pick her up, raindrops started to fall!!!!

I had to ride it home in torrential rain, worst of all is i forgot my sunglasses.. and im sure we all know what 100kmh is like in the rain with no eye protection! its like little shards of glass hitting your eye balls!

Well, i made it home eventually! worst part was it was all detailed and shiny when i picked her up .. was covered in water marks and crap when i got home! :( .. but i spent a few hours that night getting up close and personal with her! haha

I added a few acc's to the bike so it was exactly what i wanted, went with the Willie.G Skull theme on Grips, covers etc.. added a stage 1 kit and i am still undecided if i go for a SE 120r motor at first service or just a stage 4 kit!

have to say, my expereince with Sunshine Coast Harley Davidson in Maroochydore was nothing short of exceptional, I have owned many new bikes from other HD's to Ducati's to Jap... and no dealership has ever come close to the level of service and basically making it a good buying expereince as Sunny Coast Harley did, So i strongly recommend you consider them if your in QLD .. Anton the salesman and Jase the owner are both awesome blokes and the whole team there were great!

How do the breakouts handle compared to a Fatbob ?

Well i cant comment on handling compared to a fatbob, but im fairly sure with the rake etc that handling wise they wouldnt be as good as a fatbob.. i have a ducati diavel if i want something that can handle abit better! this Breakout was bought purely as a cafe cruiser!

Crookkneez: thanks mate, and yeah i met John when i was there at the old store and funnily enough it was him who sold me the bike! everyone was busy so he took me out the back to show me a black and a silver and i couldnt decide.. so he rode the silver around into the sunlight and i then put down a deposit!

i work for Indian and Victory motorcycles, but still prefer my HD's.. although quality wise , the Indian is as good as a HD.. amazing bike to ride and the finish is incredible..

    Great bike.
Took the exact same bike out minus the accesories for a HD test drive day in Sydney. Loved it wasn't sure about flake finish but soon like the fact it was really diff.
Dreamt of a Harley since a kid so maxed out and going CVO silver.

Firstly, that things awesome!!! I looked at a breakout last year but the pricetag scared the shit out of me! Secondly, mines an 06 Nightrain and Ive been getting a hard time off the cops for the frenched number plate, (plate can't be read from 45*). So my question is, what's the width of your rear fender? Mine is fairly tight over a 200 rear tyre, but I think I may be able to make your style work if the size is right. My only other options look like crap or go back to the stock guard, and I don't want either. Front guard is nice too, I wonder if it would fit an 06? Thanks, Matt

Matt your fender would be a 9.5" wide fender, the breakout will be an 11.5" wide for starters as they run a 240mm tyre. You could split it in half, take a couple inches out and custom fab some new brackets to get it to work, but by that point the number plate holder is probably useless. You may as well just got rid of the flush mount on yours

Thanks Squid, I was afraid it was going to be a 240! Ive got no objections to getting rid of the recess, but what do I replace it with, that doesn't look like shit??

Good question. That's why I haven't changed my fender yet, I haven't found something that is legal and looks good. Every one seams to have to compromise in some way or another a little to suit the law. I think flush with the fender and a small neat plate light/brake light setup above it is as good as it gets

Yeah I'll have to think about which to go soon coz Ive already been warned so im sure next time will be a fine! There is a new style very similar to mine but with a shallower chrome trim, so the plate would be more visible. But apparently the angle is a problem as well, it needs to be more vertical.
