Don't stress bloke - I got one at my work here who hates all Harley's ; and takes every opportunity to tell me. His last bike was a " real man's" CB750 ( sometime back in the '80's).

He goes to Bali twice a year to show the poor peasants there what a rich capitalist he is.

Back in the late 60's when I was riding my first bikes - a 250 was a big bike - a 650 was a fkn superbike !!!!

In all the intervening years I have had so many different makes and models, I couldn't even honestly and accurately tell u how many, or what make/model.

I had a big cc Harley a few years ago,  but wasn't happy with it coz the previous owner had put on low shocks, super thin le-perra seat and mini apes. Couldn't ride 50 k's without stopping for a break.

Hey - no offense if that's ur thing fellas ! Each to their own and all that. Makes the world look good with all the variety !

Me - I'm gettin on a bit - bad back and knees - need a bit of comfort.

Changed the rear shocks to longer ones and stiffened the front up a bit on the 1200 - and am happy as a pig in shit.

More power and speed than I will ever use (and lose my license in 2nd gear for hooning ) . Great handling, light weight, servicing a child could do, cheap insurance, great fuel economy, cheaper running costs (tyres, oils etc etc). Go to any honest dealer/mechanic and ask which models have the most (and expensive) problems - and which have the least. Simply put - there ain't much to be earnt with a Sporty. They are nigh-on indestructable.

All this wrapped up in a fantastic looking package, with the usual HD quality chrome and paint, the best ever made Harley (EVO) engine - and all for a great low price. WOW

We should be enormously gratefull to our brothers for buying the BIG bikes - in a roundabout way they are subsidising us. It's where HD make their $$$. i.e. with the bigger bikes.

Have owned lotsa big bikes (5 Goldwings, 2 Vulcan Nomads to name a few). Great for touring, pulling a trailer etc. Don't do that anymore - so don't need the size. If that's what you do - then that's the bike you should have. That's what they are made for.

If riding to work daily, splitting traffic and going for that weekend blast in the hills is ur thing - reckon u can't go past a sporty.

That's what me and the missus do now-a-days.

p.s. a bigger bike doesn't make ur dick look any bigger either - if that was true, mine'd be dragging on the ground. 

.........and besides - Sportsters have so many great paint schemes - U can match it to as many different dresses as U like ! ! ! hahahaahaha
