    Hi all,

I am a little confused after hearing too many know it alls.....

But to all 1250 sporty owners does your Bike seem like its missing whilst cruising under 4000rpm?

I'm running 10.5/1 comp, hammer 560 cams and their 883 heads maxed out.

She pulls like a train whilst accelerating but as soon as it want to cruise at 60 or 80 km/h it's always piss farting around.....

    Any idea's???

    Cheers

    Scott

Similar setup to yours except 1200 heads, also my O2 sensors are removed with O2 eliminators installed . Same deal on acceleration, pulls hard, but cruises just fine at 60-80kmh no missing. I try & keep it spinning above 3k rpm. Sits on 100kmh (around 3300rpm) without skipping a beat.

So dunno, could be your tune? Did you use one of Aarons PV maps for the Patriot or have you tuned it further? Have you queried Aaron?

I am presuming that you had the bike Dyno'd and tuned once all the mods were completed...If not then its highly likely your leaning out at steady speed due to the O2 system trying to find the right cruising AF settings.

I'm running a map from Aaron, am planning on getting it dyno tuned at some stage but just need time to get down to Adelaide....
I will contact Aaron and see what he has to say.

Let us know how you go Scott. I reckon tussuck is on the money. I thought the PV has an auto-tune though to correct these settings?

Yeah PV has 'auto tune' but you have to activate it, most of the time it will run in closed loop. ive ran auto tune a few times but need to get a good day of riding in so it can do the job properly.

I wish i had reasearched the PV more before buying otherwise i probably would have went with a thundermax...

sounds like it's  in the tune + style of exh system , later model fuel injection model ,      carbs are easier

Well i found a couple issues,

1, The plugs were rooted - Probably inconsistent fuel / old age
2, The exhaust valve had closed (Broken Wire)

    No intake leaks,

But still does it # ever so slightly when trying to cruise at very light throttle positions.

I have managed to do quite a few auto tuning sessions now aswell so maybe that is correcting it (Just need more spare time)

I remember Aaron at Hammer mentioned their dyno mule ran like a pig with the valve closed but didn't cross my mind your adjustment wire would be broken. Keep up the auto tuning, sounds like you're getting it all sussed.
