As the title says... when I rev her high, usually in first gear, and the only other common thing is that both times this has happened the fuel light has been on, the bike loses power for a second almost like it's running out of fuel but will be perfect after that for the next several kms.

After that I generally have filled up, the fuel thing sounds obvious, but is this normal, the bike is new (under 1000km) and my first HD so I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour.

P.s. the only mod I've done is a set of V&H straight shot slip-ons.

hmmm.....Where is the fuel outlet on your tank? Under high RPM - and i assume high acceleration ALL the petrol will get pushed to the back of the tank due to G forces. This could basically make you run out of petrol for the engine if the fuel pump pickup cannot find any gas to pump.

That's a really good thought and exactly what it feels like is happening, once at a constant speed or as soon as I back off the throttle it's back to normal.

sounds like Tussuck has it answered. But do this and get back to us. Reset your trip meter when you fill up and take note of the k's at when this starts. If its over 90k since refill and depending on your tune then yeah low fuel.
