Hi guys, I've had TMax tuner fitted for almost a year. Damn speedo is out by at least 10 km/h, and trip meter is out by at least -30 km over aproximately 200 km trip. What annoys me most is that I copped a speeding fine on my way home the day I picked my bike up from where said tuner was fitted, plus I don't have an accurate way of knowing how many KMs have been travelled between services.
Anyone know how to re-calibrate the speedo?
Cheers.
Softy , have you ridden next to a car with a GPS to check your speed ?
I had the same issue with my bike as I have a Tmax on the bike like yourself.
There was a setting somewhere, but I cannot remember. I will try and remember what I did as it is pretty much spot on now even compared with the gps
Hi,
Under Basic settings there is a button called Speedo Cal
Click on it and there you will see "Speedo Calibration Calculator" there is where you can see a section to re-calibrate your speedo.
You may need a GPS to check your work against...
Hope this helps you out....
Cheers
Most new cars , and I suppose new bikes , are around 5-10% shy of actual speed . Manufacturers are allowed 10% , but can only read slower than actual . Odometers have to be accurate otherwise warranty wouldn,t last as long .Car or bike I sit on 120 in a 110 zone ,cept when I,m in a group comin back from Broken Hill
Hi Guys,
The speedo cal is straight forward in the software. I recal the speedo on all TTS tuners on my Dyno. Seems some of the download maps have been set up with different gearing to that used on our Ausie bikes. You can get it spot on. But I like to have it reading 1 or 2 Ks high to give you that small buffer for those photographic reasons. ie: Always good to do it with a new tire.
Cheers Brian.
Have you got it sorted out yet? I may have mentioned it before? My work truck has a little computer fitted which measures various things including speed / distance etc. it is spot on, calculated by tailshaft rotations. Be careful of some GPS apps, not so good.
if you ever need to check it, just shout out.
GT, I haven't sorted it yet, been busy job hunting and applying for jobs without much success at the moment.
Good luck with the search, we'll have a chat Saturday.
Hi there, does anyone know where I can get a 9 pin to 15 pin pc adapter cable that plugs into the thundermax d-link cable? The thundermax cable does not currently fit my laptop outlet, and I can't make any adjustments. Cheers.
Try this....

Well, finally after all this time I now have a correct speedometer. A few weeks ago I managed to download the tuning software from Zippers, and after countless searches on google, I was able to find instructions on how to fix my problem. I used the calculate method by typing in the values for actual speed, and indicated speed. The program was then able to calculate and came up with a 5 digit number which I then had to save in a file, whilst the ignition and run switch were in the on position, and the data link cable connected to the TMax module.
Next on the to-do list is learn how the rest of the software works so that I can hopefully understand what is going on with the engine while out riding etc.
