Grateful for any advice

I have posted this in the workshop section as well. It has just started happening that when I go to start my 2009 sportster you press the starter switch and the bike doesn't crank but you can hear a faint click near the starter motor, then after a few times it will crank and start. I took it to Harley Heaven and they checked it over but it started every time. They checked the wiring, switches, power,etc, all ok, so now I am thinking that maybe it is the starter motor solanoid. Has anyone out there had a similar problem?

I have had similar intermittent problems on my 2005 custom. Then one day it stalled at a set of lights in town & I had to call the RACV. He checked the battery got the bike going & reckoned that the battery terminals were not getting a good connection. So I have pulled the battery out, cleaned the connections & put some petroleum jelly on them. seems to be ok now.
