Dyno / Engine savy people

    On most occasions I would say 99% of occasions the HP and Torque on a dyno chart cross over at 5252rpm which is consistent with the theoretical equation.

     

    Occasionally you will see a chart that does not, and it is usually the result of a very well educated / experienced engine builder getting the torque to carry out much further than usual by stepping away from the theory and building with his experience. Usually when we move away from the theoretically proven combinations this fail to meet expectations. But there are some very smart people around and a few of them are members here, ( I am certainly not one of them).

    Here is a chart of a almost stock bike that falls short of the 5252 which has me a bit baffled. Although the peak numbers are about what I expected to see. The bike rides very nice, good response and very smooth, no bad manners at all.


    2012 model 10,000kms, 103" stock with the only changes being A/C, cat gutted, exhaust control valve removed and SE mufflers fitted.

    More out of curiosity than any thing else but what causes the crossover to move left?

    HP/Ftlbs Scales are different

    If you visually correct the Torque scale the lines would indeed cross at 5252, sorta, approximately, guessstimation like.

    It can't cross at different point due to the formula :

    HP=Torque (ft-lbs) x Rpm/5252

    If you look at it another way, when Rpm are @ 5252, HP has to equal torque.
    It's all just math's !

    Yup, correctomoondo.
    The sheet problem is purely a visual thing,due to differences in the Hp/ft-lbs scales.

    Yes the scaling seems to be the cause, don't know why I didn't spot it in the first place.

    hi max remember this chart its still goin as strong  if even not better probably due to rubber is better ,exhaust note has found a new octave ,like its balls dropped or whatever ,I call it evil when u start this thing people go inside except for nut across road who comes raceing across with violence coming outa his mouth my wife an daughters have 2 chase im over

     

    road cops got im took im away never came saw me if he comes over mine again hes under arrest ,he verbally asualtyed mrs an daughters at front door and my back gate an threatened 2 push me over an kick me ,I just told im go home please he mus be hating it now as I go in an out as he stands there staring death at me an I jus waggled my finger he

    Ding stock motors are all about the same just the pipe makes a few more or less. Yours looked in better condition when it arrive than it did when I left mate ;-)))
