l went into the search area about this subject and saw others have had the same problem as myself , bearing failure. ln my case the granny glide needed a new tyre on the front at 18k, dropped it  out and discovered both bearings were rumbling. Earlier Harleys were fitted with Timken taper rollers, as long as you've got a set of seals you pop them out ,fresh bit of grease and your on the road , not these pieces of shit ,sealed bearings with not enough quality grease and they fuck up early. You cant go down to the bearing shop as  there an od size applicable to Harley only. To change these out you will need a bearing tool . So the moral to this story be prepared to replace your bearings when you do a tyre change, and they are not cheap

Funny thing about that l actually own a car wash and l do wash my bikes at the wash now and then, mainly to get the bugs off with presoak, and then l use the low pressure only to blow them off. l never direct the gun at the steering head bearings , swingarm or wheel bearings for that exact reason. We get a lot off dirt bikes in with people using the high pressure on their bikes but there is only so much you can say to people
