What made you buy a Harley?

I'll start it off, when the vrod's were first released back in 2001, it was love at first sight, when I had enough coin I bought one.
It wasn't the attitude they invoke with riding a Harley, since I don't care who I ride with or what they ride, perhaps resale value helped lean me towards a HD a smidgen.

    What's your reason?

I couldn't find a Triumph Thunderbird at the time so got an FXDF instead, no regrets though.

apart from a Goldwing, which I had a couple of many moons ago, most other bikes felt small underneath me. all the jap and even bmw. ended up with an ultra classic as first Harley. now a roadking. they just fit better.

I was probably a late starter and got.my licence around 91.
Ive always gone for the nakeds but always liked the cruisers.

Around the same time I was with the MRA in Townsville and we rode with a few Harley's
and I enjoyed the presence they had on the road.

I gave up bikes for years but the itch came back this year and started looking for a Harley.
Ended up with a sporty custom only because I still move around a bit and she'll fit in my trailer easier.

Im now looking at the street glide for when I settle on a place to settle down.

Got the attention span of a sparrow ! Couldn,t find a bike that I enjoyed long term .Tried a BMW boxer , but the Germans engineered the soul out of it . Had the Superglide nearly 2 years and still want to ride it ! Thinking about a Street Glide though ......

My Buell is too short for a pillion so needed something to take the wife out on. She liked HD's and having already owned a lot of Jap bikes & a Trumpy nothing else done much for me so who was I to argue.

Went to Melbourne with the intention of buying a V Rod Muscle but went with the Fat Bob as seemed a little more practical  for two up.

There is no other bike on this planet sounds like a Harley and riding one just gives me that great feeling that no other bike can match, Harleys have real soul I have tried many other brands but always come back to HD.
