Canberra service options

I bought my Iron from a dealer who charged reasonable prices for servicing, but then moved to Canberra before the first service.

Now the thieves want $400 for the first logbook service, which is a rip-off by any standard. This is the most mechanically-simple motorcycle I've ever owned, and doesn't even have a fairing that's needs to be removed either, and yet it is twice as expensive to service as anything I've had to pay previously. If I'd known what they charged for servicing, I'd have bought something else!

Anyway, I've got the bike now, but what I'm trying to find out is whether there is someone/anyone else in Canberra, other than Robbo's, who can do Harley logbook servicing?

Worst case, I'll just forget the logbook and service it myself as per the manual anyway. I'd prefer to have it signed off officially, but my main concern is just that it gets serviced. Seriously, $400 for an incredibly simple first service on a bike like this? Bloody thievery at best, that is.

    Where in Canberra are you?

Pulfords in mitchell is where I go.
There's another place in tuggeranong (in conder I think) called bestway customs.

That's why I did the oil change myself.
$50 for 3 quarts of Mobil 1 Vtwin from Hill & Co in Fyshwick.
    $17 Oil filter from Robbos
$10 for a few beers while I'm doing the Job.

I wanna support local, but $400 bucks for an oil change....

There is not a lot of alternatives for Harley servicing in Canberra , (but a couple of good ones is enough),, as mentioned above , Pullfords in Mithchell ,, (a number of guys I know use them , and very happy ),, Bestways in Conder ,, (good reports), he works from private home.. Depending what you need done,, your only 3 hours ride from Sydney area,, plenty to choose from in the big smoke ,, PS,, Robbos in Canberra has been sold ,, things may change with new management !! I fucking hope so !!!!!!!

Do it your self its easy, get a factory manual that is also a great source for working on your own bike.

Its a Harley its not rocket science also your not going to get more money for your bike if you sell it if you have all the servicing done by a Harley shop

If something is faulty with the bike and they find its a factory issue they will fix your bike under warranty.

I wasn't happy with some subbie work Pulfords did on my car via Trojan Motorsports, but then again, I wasn't happy with Trojan either. Someone thought it was a great idea to put the worlds ugliest bung on the top of a polished $3,500 intake manifold, instead of under with all the other bungs. Haven't heard anyone complain about Pulfords who has gone to him themselves though.

He was recommending them? Not complaining? Or did you not read it? :p
