Ive seen this a few times today and I looked but couldnt see it posted here yet, I may be wrong.

What do you reckon? I see a number of pepole saying the bike riders shouldnt have smashed his window with a helmet. Then they blame the other bike for slowing down in from of the rover.

I think running over a number of bikes and injuring people he got off lightly. I did hear the local news guy say that the car driver should have tried to avoid a group of bike riders of that size.

Why? If every drives properly there should be no problems should there?

    Your thoughts people.

saw that on the old FB today. the riders were being dicks in the first place and not sure what started it all. Funny that all the yanks were commenting that they would have done the same but also would have started shooting as well.

I read that it all started after he accidentally hit a bike but didn't stop. The video shows what happens after the bikers try and stop him.

the guy that brake checked him a 0:26 had some balls... if that was unwarranted, then he brought the rest of it on the other bikes and most of what happened next is his fault.

I'm not sure whether the brake check was to get him to stop because he'd already done something to another rider, as it seems strange for a bunch of bikes to pick on a Range Rover unprovoked. I'm guessing that he'd already done something to aggravate them, knock another rider over, etc prior to the video starting. The brake check could've then been to stop the guy so that they can wait for the pigs to arrive and sort the shit out. Looks like the driver just shat his pants after that and panick/fear took over. If he hit a rider, he should've stopped in the first place, but he did have a 5mth old in the car... i can see why he was panicking.

Bugger the poser bikers....what a bunch of twats. They were lucky that he only ran over 2 or 3 of them; its a shame the driver was not carrying a gun to take care of the pussy smashing his window.

Interesting read and watch, but conflicting reports on the first encounter - which is the one that explains it all.

A few videos pulled from the guy's YouTube account which he has now removed because it shows the behavior of the group which is believed to be before the incident with the Range Rover:   www.liveleak.com/view

We may never know what really happened to start this chain of events but a lot of riders were acting like twats before that happened, recklessly lane splitting, emergency lanes even riding the footpaths etc. "Play with fire, you may get burnt"

But from what I've seen the driver of the car has a lot of support from Joe Public and will not be charged, meanwhile the guy that did the "brake check" scored a broken leg (maybe more) and is being charged and another rider that was run over is in a coma and in a very bad way. It's ok to say the driver should have stopped but if surrounded by a angry mob and you feared for your family's safety, most would panic and try to flee.

I really feel for the SUV driver being placed in a position where he had no choice but to do what he did (I have been in a similar one that fortunately did not escalate the way this one did, but its really friggin scary been in a cage surrounded by pissed off bike riders). Its a hard call to make, but if he felt he and his family were in danger then he is entitled to try to escape - its just bloody sad someone got hurt really bad in the process.

Sole responsibility should rest with the person that originally brake checked him as well as the club hosting the event.

I think the NYPD need to explain why they didn't calm things down before it got out of hand.

In terms of what unfolded next, the guy that brake checked him should get a ticket.

After that, any time Lien used his 4wd as a weapon, he should be charged for attempted murder, assault with deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, etc.

The guys that break his window at the end should be charged with whatever they can as well.

Taking the emotion out of it all, they were both in the wrong, so charges should be layed per incident.

The first stop - when the guy hit the biker - is the one that matters. If they attacked him then its their fault - not necessarily the people who got run over unless they were attacking him too. Saying your surrounded by angry people doesn't give you the right to start running people over. Even if they attacked the car that's just property damage and I don't see why he took off knowing full well the damage he would cause unless they were trying to rip open the doors etc.

in the 1st place if you have a child on board esp . would you not pull over until these so called biker's  ( retarded fuckwit's ) is a better word got out of the way , then he could proseed in his luxury yuppie 4wd  to where that also ( fuckwit )  was heading , those bike's would of pass his arsehole within a minute & gone   ,   when i'am out there on the road i trust nobody  even other bike rider's as i only know myself  , i do not trust other road user's  @ all , you just never know,   it's bad enough out there as it is  without trusting somebody you don't know,          most time's on a motorbike you only get 1 chance ,

    Bonkerz,
In an earlier peice of footage they actually stopped him three times.
The first time was when the guy brakes in front of him, the second they did rip his door open and he drove off without too much incident.
The third time is where the guy starts belting on his window and his subsequent reaction after already having them try and get him out of the car is somewhat understandable.
I hope I am never in that position and have to make a split second judgement on the safety of my wife and child.
Would like to think I would react a bit smarter (call cops on mobile in the first instance and drive towards the station) but who knows.
    No winners here

The fact is Mr Lien hit a bike. Even if the riders are riding like retards, accidents happen. Stop, exchange details move on with your life. If the aggro starts jump in the fourbie and call for help.

The problem could have been fixed on the spot. Don't think the wanker in the fourbie will enjoy paying the father and now paraplegic he ran over for the rest of his life.
