Well the wife of the rover driver released a (lawyered up) statement and the papers have reported nothing about what the bikers did (apart from look scary to them) to make him run over the bikes. But she makes sure she adds they had no choice. Smells like shit to me so far, but they're playing the big bad biker angle that the press and fucked up public love so much.

Many years ago on the F3 between Sydney and Newcastle my car was surrounded by dozens of bikies. I had my wife and 2 young children on board and even though they just rode in close proximity and didn't do anything that threatened us, it was VERY intimidating.
Understanding how we felt during that incident, I sort of have sympathy for the driver of the Range Rover driver and can well understand his anguish. Unfortunately we bike riders don't have great reputations (due mainly to the 1% ers I reckon) and it's easy to understand how this guy might have felt threatened.

If this is the reaction from bikers then these idiots have no chance.
Simple fact is the SOME of the riders are fuckwits that need to be charged for driving offences, but being WITH fuckwits doesn't give anyone the right to run people over. They were pissed off because a car hit a bike - who here wouldn't be? So some deadshit gets to run all your mates down because you looked angry, or moreso because you're a biker?
I'm all for the "we don't know the facts" line in regard to the initial confrontation, but people are justifying this shit as okay because he "felt" threatened - what a crock of shit. If someone walks up to your front door and you don't like the look of them you don't get to shoot the fuckers dead, you stay in the house if you need to, and call the cops if you want. If this was anyone, but bikers (especially with the fuckwits among them) Rover man would be waking up to a shit load of angry questions.

I respect your opinion Bonkerz and realistically I'm a newcomer to motorcycling but I think you've somehow missed the point. In a perfect world everyone would respond rationally in all circumstances but alas we don't live in a perfect world. The fact is that when people feel threatened or fear for their safety, they are more likely to react uncharacteristically or even irrationally. Try to empathise with this bloke... he was surrounded by what he considered hostility. From what I saw on the video I can imagine I would react the same under the circumstances.

Yep, the guy is a liar for sure and he will go down. It looks like he objected to the Rangie being there amidst his biker mates and he was trying to be a smart arse and road rage the guy. Backfired as it should.
