My bikes an import and its a 84 FXST.

The company that imported it , Registered it as a November 1984 manufacture.

I asked a dealership if they could trace it and they found that it was manufactured and sold in November 1983.

What I want to know off anyone that can help is, is there any reason why the importer would of  Registered as a November 84 instead of a November 83?

Reason I'm asking is that pre March 1984, maximum Exhaust DB is 100 db not 94.

In advance, thanks for your help.

HD begin their new year model release in July of current years, have done so for a century.
That's why 2014 bikes are out now.
A Nov build would be for the next years model.

The Dealer got the details using the Vin and motor number from Harley in the states.

It was sold to a dealer in Seattle back in 83.

What I wanted to do was give the RTA the accurate info that I got so I can be Registered under the 100db max allowance.

Do you think I should take it up with the RTA?

Ok guys, well thanks for the help.
I have the paperwork from Harley stating the manufacture and sale date.
Hopefully this is all I need.

    Cheers
