My bike was tuned on a 38d day. Seems to run better when it's hot too. I know normally you would expect it to be better when air is cool. Small things some times seem to effect it then others don't. Can't tell the difference between rain sock or not though.
I wonder how much the cpu will adjusted to small changes. Like how dirty the filter is or how much oil is in it. Air density changes etc. Most of these things would be hard to notice by seat of pants anyway.
ended up going with the supertrapp supermeg exhaust on my street bob, seems to feel a lot more responsive down low and smoother.
very quiet though which is very different! have a open end coming for it which should sort that out.
just need to get it back on the dyno for another tune and see if i have any gains
These exhausts look ok for a 120R. Same as what is used in the SE cattle dog dyno thingie... Just a thought.http://www.wegnerautomotive2.com/bikeexhaust.htm
Well bike has done heaps of time in the rain now. Don't use the sock on the heavy breather anymore. I clean filter after rain everytime. Runs much better in the wet with out that stupid sock.
I have a worked 127ci engine currently puting out 155HP & 165tq. I have tried many exhaust system and dynoed each and every one. The best was always the first. Could not find anything to beat it. Supertrapp SuperMeg 2:1 with 32 plates and slightly open rear cap. the last system l tried was the RB Racing LSR custom built to suit my engine. Apart from the 4 month wait and extremely SHI? customer service the system ended up loosing 10HP and that was after tunning the hell out of the bike.
V&H, D&D & Screamin Eagle both 2:1 and 2:2.
I have even tried highly modified factory Harley pipes.
I was tossing up between the supertrapp supermeg and D&D Boarzilla. The Boarzilla should arrive early next week. Im goint to modify the back of the baffle with disks similiar to the supertrapp. The idea being that I can close the end off to quiet it at a moments notice. With it still exhausting through the disks.
I have the D&D boarzilla on my bike now. It was a bastard to fit. Every thing lines up really well. Quality seems great. But the rear O2 sensor is so close to the back nut on the rear head bolt it took me over an hour to tighten just that one. Also because the header pipe is bigger than standard there was not enough room between it and the nut for the ring end of the spanner. This also made it harder because I could only use the open end which in turn gave less positions to get it on the nut. Lots of swearing.
Also the dealer over tightened the front nuts because they kept coming loose. That damaged the exhaust port putting a lip across the bottom of it. I cleaned it up with stanley knife and sand paper after putting rag inside. Lucky the exhaust gasket protected the flange. Also the bottom gear box mount for the rear of the exhaust has been stripped. I discovered this after putting the header pipe on and would have to take it off again to fix it. After fucking around for over 2 hour already that was not happening. So I have put locktight in there instead and just did it up until I had a little resistant. About 500km latter and has not moved so hoping ok for a while. I'm goinng to stay away from that workshop I think.
I'm happy so far with the pipe. Seem to have picked up some torque in the mid range. Now I just need to save for a decent tune. See what this 120r can really do !!!!
