Hello everyone. Im new to this forum and I really need some help with my bike. I have a 1968 Ironhead that has had a bit of work done to it and looks amazing. Ive had it 2 weeks and Im having trouble starting it. It starts as Ive had a friens of a friend start it while I was at work, but then hes gone OS. The guy I brought it from has sent me videos of him starting it. Ive always had new harleys, but my dream was to own a 68, so I brought one haha. I understand the whole idea of how to start it. turn fule on, pull choke up, reatrd the timing. But I think Im having issues priming wiht the first kick. On the videos Ive been sent the guy starts it on the second kick every time, but I just cant seem to get it right. Ive rand every HD delar in Australia, and no one can help me with it, Ive spoken to a few bike mechanics but Ive just been messed around. Im in Sydney, can anyone help me or point me in the right direction... I really want to ride my bike haha I think I just need to work out the right way to prime it. Fingers crossed someone can help me. Sorry for the long message. Cheers

Welcome
Welcome aboard 68IH enjoy the ride, nice looking bike bloke, so far so good with the starting procedure, final piece of the equation, after you have set everything (don't retard to much) pull the clutch lever in and work the kick start a couple of times until you get a catch just below top, I don't know what you weigh or how tall you are but stand on left foot peg and kick that sucker with everything you got, they need a very robust kick to get em going at the best of times, if you don't start it by third kick give it a rest for a bit, then give her another go, thats about the best I can do for you from here, cheers bloke (don't leave your fuel on if you have a break) (positive waves man)
