righto guys, how can I lift or remove the speed limiter on my twin cam?

It has S&S slip ons, screaming eagle tuner, 211 cams.

Pulls like a freight train, but stops dead at 180ks.

I know, I know, why the fuk would you want to ride at those speeds.

Why the fuk not, I ask.

Sounds strange Iknow of stock 96ci bikes that go past that

pretty sure there is only a rev limiter not a speed limiter

have you trying it in 6th,,,,,,,,,,,if so give just 5th a crack

Never heard of a "speed limiter" myself on recent HD's

    Rev limiter yes.

I know some cars and Japper bikes are " limited" but that's to speeds like 250K's or whatever.

Harleys are as aerodynamic as a housebrick , maybe that's more likely the "problem"

If they are "speed limited" I want to know more for sure !

    1. It should go past that kph, unless it's geared down?
    2. No speed limiter on them
    3. They have rev limiter, set at from memory 5500rpm standard, often can be increased with your tuner to say 6200.

Pretty hard to hit the rev limiter  in top with a six speed box

Mine at over 220 kph doesn't sound or feel close to its rev limit (I don't have a tacho) even when it was at 96 ci

All the Delphi equipped EFI bike have both a speed limiter and Rev limiter in the calibrations. All depends on what they are set for. Only way to remove them would be to have a calibration installed with it changed.

Ok, I've never heard that before.
What speed are they limited to Steve? Must be pretty high

It is settable in the calibration but I do not know what they are set for down under. They range here in the USA and I think it has something to do with the model and tires that were installed at the factory but really do not know for sure why they did what they did.

Does anyone else have any info on speed limiters on the Aussie bikes?

News to me for sure !

Never come across it in all the calibrations I've modded and played around with

    Watching and listening with interest

Where in the calibration is the speed limiter resettable is the important question ?

    Which menu or setting ?

I'm talking original SERT or TTS in this case

Surprised I'm actually asking this after all these years !!

Im only new to the workings of these fine steads, so I cant help with the finer details. All I know is the tuning software is from the Screaming Eagle stable. Ill se what I can find,

It stops pulling at 180ks on the button.
Doesnt matter what gear your in, 4th 5th or 6th still stops pulling at exactly 180ks.

Well definitely sounds like it limited.... Someone will come up with an answer for you, I sure as hell don't know lol

Your bikes doing well to hit 180 in 4th though,

mine (when it was at 96) used to hit the 6200rpm rev limit in 4th at 172

and mine is (slightly) taller geared than stock with the 18" rear wheel.

Goes way past it though in 5th and 6th

Good luck mate, I'd be pissed off limited to 180 ha ha

My bike goes off the clock in fifth, but wont go to the rev limiter in sixth. I'm suspecting it maybe speed limited as well because it's acceleration seems to drop off suddenly. Rather than gradually as is my experience normally when a car or bike engine does it through lack of power.. My bike seems to handle fine at these speeds us less wind is gusty because I have a screen on it, that makes the bars shake a little. Either way shit loads of fun. Oh and I only do it on a track.

It's something we (TTS) has never put into the tuners for the customer to adjust. All of our racing calibrations have it maxed out however. I cannot say what anyone else does in there calibrations.

I have come across this on some of the later bikes with the 6 pin data lead. Power Vision allows it to be adjusted, although from memory only up to 255km/h. Not many will do that anyway, and most that would will have you seeing Jesus standing on the edge of the road....... Baker Transmissions also do a device to get rid of the limiter.

Thanks for the info Nev, yes like I said those speeds on a Harley are hard work lol head getting ripped off and feet blown off the pegs, nothing to hide behind.
I think max speed on mine (and most) would only be reached on the dyno
