So, I ring up for a brake light switch from Peter Stevens Adelaide, not in stock, got one in Melbourne.
All I have to do is drive into town and pay a deposit (for a $26.15 part) and they'll get it over for me!!! WTF!!!
Another new way to stuff me around...... why do I bother?
Should have got banking details over the phone & then paid for it online, they would post it to you. Less stuffing around that way Colin.
I understand where you are coming from Col. you can understand paying a deposit for something if it's over $50 or if it is a special order. and I agree a debit card is good for those that don't want a credit card.
I went through the HH parts for sale thread on this forum, thought I would save a dollar and support a sponsor. I enquired about some parts on 25th Aug. so about 4 weeks later, multiple emails to and from and still waiting... the bike is in pieces and I'm getting a bit pissed off. A lot of fucking around to save $40.
Might be ok if you can still use the bike and just want to change something, but if you need a part to get back on the road, TOO SLOW !
I have a shopping list here and will try again, but will also look at other options.
Colin , speak to Shannon or Graham at HH spare parts , they,ll help you out . Drop my name to Shannon if you need , I,ve been dealing with him for 15+ yrs when he was spare parts in another dealership .
If some of you blokes are happy with this arrangement, good for you. I have my full details on their computers, including a lot of stuff I've bought from them over time, so I'm not just Neville Nobody. I run an electrical contracting business, I order stuff for customers that they sometimes change their minds on, and it just goes back to my supplier. This is called customer service. And this part is something they already have, just got to put in on the truck with the rest of the stuff. Pauly, maybe you did, I get stuff online and just transfer to whatever account from mine. No credit card involved. Tim, I spoke to Graham, he told me it was policy that he couldn't do anything about.....well, for me then it seems.... I know why they do it. Some people are pricks.....so that's how they treat me too... In the end, I don't give a stuff, I took my controls apart and re-soldered the detached wires. Works fine, they can stick their parts wherever they like..
GT.... I feel your pain, good luck..
OK, a bit of humble pie coming up..... My first post still stands, that is what happened, I still think that was bad service, or bad policy. However, to their credit, Peter Stevens Motorcycles, through Peter Forster, responded to an email I sent to them saying basically what my first post said. He wrote he would like to follow it up and invited me to supply further detail to this end. I didn't expect that!! So while I did think the initial service I received was under par, I give them full marks for responding to my complaint. I have to say I'm happy to continue to include Peter Stevens Harley Heaven in my list of suppliers....
Blah
Some competition and a choice would be good.
Meanwhile my parts have arrived. No gasket for the tail light, so off to the hardware shop for some silastic. The rear standoffs are the wrong ones and the bolts don't even fit them. so 4 weeks to save $40 now have $40 of new parts sitting on the self. Frustrated has turned into disappointed. yeah yeah, send them back etc... can't be fucked!
I've had no problem haggling with Harley shops. Also after buying bikes and parts through them I no long need to give deposit on items under $1500. Helps when they know your name, face and you pay on time. I would not lend money to anyone unless I knew and trusted them to pay me back, which is what they are going when they order your parts.
