     Huey's guys and girls

    Got a few questions you fine people might be able to provide some feedback on, they are;

    - looking at lowering the rear of my 883 and wanted to know what shocks you think are he best, currently swaying towards the burley slammers but could be convinced otherwise.

    - where in aus would be the best place to buy shocks from? Everywhere I find the burleys they are in the states

    Thanks in advance

     best not too lower the bike too much or the swinging arm will be facing up hill  don't go pass theswinging arm  level too the ground, + short shocks if not set up proper will be harsh on the bumps

    don't know how they would affect an 883 in terms of handling and comfort, but I just put some on a 48 and took it out for an hour today. They work, and on smooth roads you won't notice the difference, but they're not forgiving on bumps at all. It's bearable for sure, but wouldn't be pleasant if you were doing 2hrs on a bumpy road.

    I checked US pricing and also the pricing from MCAS. MCAS worked out almost the same and they were at my door in 2 days.

    Guess depends on your frame etc...........I got the black lowered shocks from Harley, I think they are 11"............guy advised me not to drop it anymore than that............my old sportster Super Low used to bottom out really bad.............I was nearly thrown off the bike once. I was left floating in the air with just may hands on the bars!!!! Hairy moment ha ha...................I've nearly bitten my tongue off too bottoming out, which isn't much fun...............don't ask who I was sticking my tongue out at ha ha...........I love the lowered look but go down to the right height, too low and you'll regret it....

    My partner she has Progressive 430 series 10.5" rear shocks on her Sporty 883 low, they look great and work well but she is under 60 kilos so it really doesnt bottom out that much.

    Myself if I ride it they don't have enough dampening for my fat arse, look is great but not really that funcitonal for a heavy person.

    Smokeweazle is thinking of  Ikon shocks in Albury I think,  just got a set myself along with progressive fork springs! Has made a huge difference back & front just rang them on a Monday and ordered for my weight, couldn't believe when they were delivered on the Wednesday to Venus Bay! Anyway fitted them and fork springs myself cut the spacers to 31mm and installed, just waiting on ricors and then I will take my bike down to T1 to set the front end up & do a rear No plate clean up! Cheers. Grant.
