    Hello All,

Just joined the forum and am looking at ordering a new bike in the next few weeks.  I have always liked the Heritage and Fat Boy look.  The only thing is that I am not keen on alloy wheels and would likely change to spokes if I ordered a Fat Boy.  I would definately be looking at improvements like exhaust etc to unlock its potential.

Should I be asking Peter Stevens to be doing the work or am I better off elswhere in Adelaide?

I look forward learning more.  This has probably been answered dozens of times before, any tips or opinion?

    Please be gentle.

It may sound like a strange request, but on other forums I've been on you get flamed for asking newbie style questions.  It;s almost like it is assumed knowledge on what exhaust and basic upgrades are meant to be done to free up and unleash the potential of these engines.

I look forward to people's suggestions and input.

Welcome CV8-S1 .... what is that exactly?

There are a bunch of us crow eaters on here. Scott is a local with a wealth of knowledge, might save you a buck or to also.. He will no doub't have a view. Here Scotty .... here boy (whistle)!

Changing wheels is not exactly cheap. My advice is take you time and do test rides. There are a few good threads on here about "which bike", etc, worth a read. Everyone has a different opinnion ... it's what is right for you!

    Cheers, Mungrel.

    CV8-S1,

Welcome to the forum, also from Adelaide. On the Peter Stevens question, I tried them for my first service and found that I had to wait 4 weeks. I then took my bike down to Hyperformance Cycles/SA Choppers who did it in a few days and they offeredme better oil that PS don't do. I'd try them for wheels.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

CV8-S1 is my user name on all forums that I am on. If you haven't guessed my four wheeled mode of transport is a 2002 Monaro (hence CV8 series 1).  I thought it would be easier to keep the same username wherever I went.

I know the bike I want is the Fatboy but I really do not like the look of alloy wheels on bikes. To me a motorcyle must have spoked wheels. Only my opinion.  I have seen that on ebay there are plenty of suppliers in the states for wheels, has anyone used these?

Also, how much is Peter Stevens willing to do when you are purchasing the bike? Is that the best time to get accessories or are the prices/discounts such that it doesn't really matter?

Although not as the name probably suggests, I like the "trimmed" down look of the Fatboy ...
