Mine is a '07 XL1200C, so it runs EFI, tuned to a stage one.

light comes on between 230~240 kms

92, 95 or 98 makes no difference, around town or highway doesn't seem to matter either.

once the light is on, I don't know how much is left, it's too bloody heavy to push, so I don't test it...

Sporty 48 with stage one upgrade, only get 100km round town and 120km on open road , with a tank lift you will get a fair bit less.... Time to upgrade the tank or go with fuel bottles .... Only thing I hate about the bike is the fuel range 

 

Tank lift on my 72 DEFINITELY made a difference! since have removed it and i swear i'm getting more out of it!!! Agreed Bear!

I would not recommend running bikes with in tank fuel pumps low on fuel it is the main reason for pump failure .
something to do with the fuel around a submerged pump keeping it cooler .
