    Hi,

good effort, its easy as i reckon, bit easier with mag wheels too, if you dont touch the wheel alignment adjusters even easier

i only have little bit of trouble popping the second bead on the night dragon, first one goes alright

i reckon you be burning it up with that 120R

    thanks

Robots I did undo adjusters so I could get the drive belt off. I marked the top of the bolts with texta. Then count turns evenly on both sides. When I put wheel back on I push it against the adusters and took turns winding one turn at a time for each side. As the belt started putting presure on one side I would kick tire each turn to make sure it was up against adjuster on each side. After tightening axle i spun wheel for a while to make sure belt tracked on the front pully in the same spot as before. Axle bolt and nut marks on swing arm lined up aswell so I felt happy I had it right. Rode fine so now time will tell.

The standard fatbob tire lasted about 9,500kms no burnouts on that one. The night dragon seems a softer tire than the standard one was.

    Hi,

Good effort, nice ride, i bet it flies down the freeway that one, probably just keep it in 5th

I almost got bashed up when i was talking about using 6th at a recent overnighter, you wouldnt go anywhere near 6th with the 120R?

    Thanks

What pressure you running on your ND up front? I'm sitting at 29psi per the recommendation from Pirelli.

    Hi,

On the rear night dragon i was running 44 cold, have just recently dropped down to 42 and now 40psi cold, havent noticed any difference in ride

Hi....front is wearing down faster than I thought it would so I think I'll be lucky to get 6,000 to 8,000 out of it. I was worried about it, but when I sat back and looked at my riding style I'm happy enough.

See, I ride around the speed limit and about 80% of that is peak hour freeway traffic where I split lanes the entire trip (which is about 80km round trip a day). I tend to run hot through the cars and if I need to stop I'll pull up really hard using the front brake - and I do mean hard. Hence the high tyre wear. I changed my braking style to be rear brake centric fir a week but in the end a front tyre is half the cost of the rear and easy to replace, so I accept the wear as the price I pay for my mono style braking...lol

Got to admit that the ND are about the best tyres I have had on the bike in a long time.  I really have to wirk hard to get the rear end to step out...

The Pirelli website has good info on what trye pressure to run for various harley models - it even had my old 1986 there so its well done.

Got caught in the rain again today. Can't believe how much better the night Dragon is compaired to the shit Dunlops Harley dealerships use. These should be the tires from the factory.

+1 on the rain thing. Got caught on a massive thunderstorm on Sunday and tried to race home on the motorway at around 110kph (ish) - 2 up. Had to pull up hard a few times as traffic was insane!

The front and rear Night Dragons gripped bloody well, I was very impressed with their stopping power in full wet conditions.

New tyre going on the rear Saturday. Leaning towards the ND, sounds like everyone's happy with them. Was quoted about $260 for 150/80 16.

I'll be glad once my harley branded rear wears out. Bloody scary trying to pull up in the wet sometimes, as it tend to lock up way too easily, & have had a few moments of panic braking and not being able to pull up at lights. Plus there is a slow leak which has been pissing me off ever since I had a puncture repaired.

    Hi Gt1200,

I can only compair Dunlop 407 with the night dragon. I have riden with both in heavy rain where the road is one long puddle. So far no aquaplaning with the dragon the dunlop was shocking. Can also three quarter throttle on wet road with Dragon, if I did that with dunlop things would have got interesting. I mate got mine on line for me at $255.00 yours would be cheaper because it's a common size, mine are 180/55/18. Another mate of mine is about to get one fitted $ 320.00 through local tire store he has a fatbob with standard size wheels. If you can get them on line and fit yourself you will save $$$$.

Generally speaking i find that if I take the wheel off the bike and drop it to the shop they will charge $20 for fitting and balancing - this assumes I have bought the tyre from them. My current rear was about $205 fitted (In Melbourne)

Having a standard or common sized tire saves heaps of money.

Agree there... I went from a 140 Metz rear to a 130 Pirelli rear which is basically stock size. Love the handeling of the 130 now that I am used to it.

In the end as long as your happy and have good safety tires thats what counts mate. I know I've spent money cash than I should have, but do I have a big smile on the dial when I'm riding. Yes I Do.

    Hi,

Yeah good work tussock, with the wide glide being a 180/60-17 we get flogged on tyres as an odd size, front and rear cost be $590 fitted a while ago plus stuffed front axle covers i had to drill grub screw out and gouges on rim

I got F &R night dragon from local motorX shop for $350, bought a few tools and fit myself, i since picked another R night dragon for when this one is finished

The OS shops have become less competitive with drop in our $, also check ebay as some people buy tyres and never fit them, i think there a front metzler 880 19" on now for like $80 or $90 brand new

I got last tyre from MMMMTS which mickle put us onto on the other forum, i picked it up in Sunshine from him, has good price and can fit if you want

    Thanks
